Experience
Now a full-time
freelancer, in the past ten years I have worked
in-house as language lead for a MLV in Sophia-Antipolis, France, as
a localiser for a MLV in Cambridge, England, as a
partner in a translation company in Bologna, Italy, and carried out
on-site localisation and software testing contracts in France,
Germany and USA.
Resources
With a wide range of up-to-date
reference material, an established network of colleagues, experts
and professionals and a hands-on knowledge of the subject matter I can tackle semi-technical and highly
technical texts in my main fields of specialisation: IT, business software,
ERP, Internet software, building and construction.
Equipment
I have used Trados since 1996 and now use version 7
Freelance and SDLX 2005. I am fully aware of the constraints
involved in reusing segments and sharing memories. I am also
familiar with other CAT tools (Catalyst Quickship 4.0, RC WinTrans,
Logoport, Transit
Satellite PE, WordFast, Deja Vu, Tag Editor) and HTML editors (FrontPage, DreamWeaver, UltraEdit).
Qualifications
I hold a 4-year
degree from the Advanced
School for Interpreters and Translators at the University of Bologna, a diploma in
land and building surveying and am an associate member of the American Translators Association
since 1997.
