[Saturday February 8th]
The Wings are showing signs of life but they couldn't get it done today in Colorado. I do feel the Wings were robbed on the Av's 3rd goal, it was clearly a case of interference and shouldn't have stood. Getting that goal erased wouldn't have made a difference in this game as the Wings top scorers just couldn't get the puck past Roy.
The Sharks will be at the Joe on Monday night and hopefully the Red Wings will show the same intensity they did today!
[Thursday January 9th]
The Wings have got of the New Year with a fairly decent streak and shown that even with out the likes of Yzerman, Bowman and Hasek, they are still in contention.
[Wednesday December 25th]
The Wings beat the Blue Jackets Monday night 1 to zip where Cujo proved he can withstand the onslaught of a team, that is currently circling the drain of their division, and post a shutout. Am I the only one that misses Hasek this season? Anyhow, check out the game tomorrow night at the Joe where Columbus looks to take another thumping.
[Monday December 16th]
The Wings face the Islanders tomorrow night in N.Y.
[Friday December 6th]
The Wings rolled up a newspaper and smacked Phoenix on the nose with it last night. The dogs loss wasn't surprising given their record this year as the second worst team on home ice. They did seem to have a lot of jump and definately kept Detroit on its toes.
The Dallas Stars will be at the Joe tonight.
[Thursday December 5th]
The Wings face Phoenix tonight in the America West Arena.
[Monday November 25th]
It was a high scoring game tonight in the Joe Louis Arena with Edmonton getting the deciding goal in overtime. Jason Woolley got his first goal as a Red Wing to tie the game at two, late in the second. The Wings gave up a power play goal at the start of the third to put Edmonton ahead. Fedorov tied it up again with an assist from Woolley, but the Oilers slipped the puck by Cujo half way through the frame. Unassisted, Shanny kept Detroit alive with a final tying goal late in the third.
[Sunday November 24th]
The Wings and Oilers settled for a tie last night, with Brett Hull scoring the only goal for Detroit. Edmonton will face the Wings again on Monday at the Joe.
[Saturday November 23rd]
The first meeting between the Wings and Canucks last night ended Detroit's wining streak. Cujo was pulled after allowing four goals to get past him. Detroits performance was off the entire night with the only highlight being a lone goal from Brett Hull half way through the third period.
Tonight the Red Wings face the Oilers at the Edmonton Skyreach Centre.
[Wednesday November 20th]
The Calgary got burned by Detriot at the Saddledome last night. Roman Turek smartly sat this one out as he let Jamie McLennan (a former Houston Aero) get slaughtered in his place. On the opposite end of the ice, Cujo made 29 saves and got his 2nd shutout of the season.
[Tuesday November 19th]
The Wings face the Flames tonight at Calgary.
[Sunday November 17th]
Manny Legace nearly pulled off a shutout win against the Leafs last night. Unfortunately with 10 seconds left in the third, Tie Domi put Toronto on the board. Legace (a Toronto native) was started in place of Cujo to avoid a repeat of a Hasek like loss in the Air Canada Centre. The Wings look to continue their winning ways against Calgary on Tuesday night.
[Friday November 8th]
Lidstrom and Fedorov helped the Wings skate past the B's last night. Sergei the Sultan of Slap ended it with a blast 2 minutes into overtime.
[Monday November 4th]
The Wings skated to a 3-3 tie Sunday night against Dallas
Detroit has slipped in the division standings for the first time this season, is this a sign of things to come or are they just getting warmed up?
Ken Holland had some things to say about the Wings current performance see story.
[Tuesday Oct 29th]
Nashville broke their losing streak Saturday night with a 3-1 win over Detroit.
The Wings face theSharks at home tonight.
[Saturday Oct 26th]
The Wing's over powered Pittsburgh and brought their winning streak to an end last night. Hats off to Fedorov who had a natural in the 2nd period.
The Golden Brett has been openly critical of the increasing number of penalties being called during the games. Do the Refs really understand how to judge obstructions and aren't dozens of penalties during a game slowing it down and pissing off the players and fans alike?
[Friday Oct 25th]
The Wings tied the Kings on Wednesdays game and are still look for their first win against L.A. after 3 games. Tonight the Wings go up against the Penguins.
[Tuesday Oct 22nd]
Cujo got his first shutout as a Red Wing last night against the Flames, it was the 37th of his career. Penalty killing was the name of the game with Detroit players in the sin bin 13 times. Tomorrow Detroit looks to even the score against the Kings.
[Saturday Oct 19th]
The Wings fell to the Canadiens on Thursday, they'll face the Minnesota Wild tonight at 8pm.
[Monday Oct 14th]
The Wings go Duck hunting and Anaheim helps out by scoring on themselves! A missed pass by the Ducks during the second period ends up going the length of the ice and into the empty net. Shanahan got the credit for the goal since he was the last Red Wing to touch the puck.
[Sunday Oct 13th]
Kings hand the Wings their first loss, with the game ending 3-2. Tonight the Wings face The Mighty Ducks tonight in Anaheim.
[Friday Oct 11th]
Last night in San Jose, the Sharks fell asleep on the ice and had a nightmare...they were playing Detroit! They finally woke up in the third period, but it was too late. Cujo did a good job in front of the net and the Wings really capitalized on scoring chances down the now open ice.

Around the NHL the Pens were in similar straits but they never woke up, Le Magnific's team was Le Magni-suck!

Nice job by Ed Belfour getting a shutout on opening night and maybe shutting up those moronic Leafs fans that don't know what a great goaltender he is. I was sorry to see Eddy leave the Stars and I hope he has a good year up in Toronto.
[Thursday Oct 10th]
The Stars came on strong in the first period last night but Colorado had more momentum the rest of the game. Marty Turco stopped 40 shots to keep the game tied at 1, no word yet on how serious Jason Arnots injury is. Was it just me or did there seem to be a blind eye turned towards the Avs on penalty calls?
Talk about playing on their backs, the 'canes in the East and the Dogs in the West both lose the same night with the exact same score 4-1. Did you hear Gretzky's comments about the Wings last season? I agree the Dogs need luck because they certainly don't have the talent to bring the cup to Phoenix!

Tonight on ESPN, Scotty Bowman will be doing commentary during the games! The Red Wings vs The Sharks at 9:30pm Central!!!

The Stars announced this afternoon that Jason Arnott will be on the injured list 10-14 days. He suffered a sprained ankle in last nights game when he was taken down in the first period by Vaclav Nedorost. Standing in for Arnott will be Jon Sim from the Utah Grizzlies (AHL).
[Wednesday Oct 9th]
Hockey season takes off in the Lone Star state tonight! The Dallas Stars head to Denver, game time 7pm central on ESPN. How will the Stars fare this season with Dave Tippet behind the bench and Marty Turco in front of the net? (couldn't be any worse than last year)
[Monday Oct 7th]

Do the Wings have the cure for the Stanley Cup hangover? see story.
Will Yzerman hit the ice early? Yzerman said he is at least a month ahead of his rehabilitation schedule, and might return to the team in early December instead of the predicted date of February.see story.

Welcome to the start of my 02/03 Wings website. It's about time to get the season underway before I wear out my "Red Alert: Hockey Town 3" DVD. It's a good disk, btw, if you haven't already picked up a copy. The only complaint I have is they could have had more footage from the regular season.
