Ethereal, enigmatic, 

a bit surrealistic,

mysterious and engaging,

Lisa Powers' images

could have been

plucked out of a

continuous narrative

in their filmic storytelling.

One can often imagine

a moment just before, 

and  moment,

perhaps unanticipated,

about to happen. 

​

Her direction

of the models

resembles

a movie director's

but without the benefits

of dialogue and motion

to capture a scene.

​

Her images are silent

and frozen

​

yet they speak 

to the viewer

with a gently

seductive voice

inviting the viewer

to complete the scene.

 She offers only the clues.
