Founded in 1985, the Allatoona Eye Clinic has continuously served the eye care needs of Cartersville, Bartow County, and Northwest Georgia.  We provide comprehensive ophthalmic services to our community including eye surgery and treatment of eye diseases.

Jeffrey R. Brant, MD

Jeffrey R. Brant, MD

Dr. Brant completed an ophthalmology residency in 1985 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital.  He received his medical degree (MD) from the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine and he holds a bachelor's degree in microbiology from the University of South Florida.  Originally from Miami, Florida, Dr. Brant has called Cartersville home since 1985.  In his spare time, he enjoys wood working, glass art, photography and travel.

Feng Zhao, MD, PhD

Dr. Zhao is a comprehensive ophthalmologist in Cartersville, Georgia, and has over 39 years of experience in the medical field. She graduated from Fujian Medical University 1982 and completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is affiliated with Cartersville Medical Center and has been with the Allatoona Eye Clinic since 1998.  She is accepting new patients.

Kristen Peterson, MD

Dr. Peterson received her undergraduate degree in Biology at Emory University where she also graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Doctor of Medicine degree (MD).  She completed her ophthalmology residency in 2018 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Callahan Eye Foundatio Hospital.  After that, Dr. Petereson spent one year at Duke University Eye Center for a fellowship in Ocular Immunology and Ocular Surface Disease.  While Dr. Peterson is originally from Tampa, Florida, she is happy to have called the greater Atlanta area home for the majority of her adult life.  She loves spending time with her husband, their two sons, and their extended family in the area.  In her spare time, she loves taking pictures, scrapbooking and baking.
