My Background

Bill has ranched all of his life and built saddles during the winter months until 2000, so he has spent a lot of hours in a saddle. He then decided to build saddles full time so opened a shop in Roundup, Montana. In 2008 we moved our shop 8 miles out of Roundup near our home. He made his first saddle in 1980. The last few years he has been building several period saddles and replica saddles such as Miles City Cogshall, Charlie Russell’s saddle, Pony Express saddle and a LD Stone saddle that is in this picture. He carves western pictures on leather and creates beautiful mirror frames also. His wife, Brenda, builds chaps, chinks, and purses while daughter, Tassie, builds the tack. Each saddle is designed one at a time. Our trees are wood rawhide covered built by Ben Swanke and Percision Saddle Tree Co. We use quality leather and line them with real wool skins. Since each of our saddles, chaps, and tack is an unique custom creation, we do not maintain a paper catalog. We recommend calling us to visit about your individual needs and desires. Bill was inducted into the Montana Arts Council Circle of American Masters in 2011.
