Anna Baum’s books are collections of short stories written in fictional form but based on biographical material, outlining vignettes from the lives of Polish Jews, and relations with their neighbours, before, during, and after the War.

Anna Baum was born near Lódź, Poland. After the Holocaust, she returned to Poland in 1946, where she was a teacher and school principal, Anna Baum emigrated with her husband and two children to Canada in 1957.

She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1978 from Concordia University in Montréal, where she lived with her husband Jacob. She passed away in February 2006.

Anna Baum’s stories will remind you, your children and grandchildren, of a world left behind.
