Our Programs and Projects

Christian Relief Services and our project, Running Strong for American Indian Youth®, are working to change this through providing American Indian communities with food, water, basic relief, emergency assistance and support services for needy youth and their families including programs fostering self-reliance.

For decades we have worked to raise the standard of living in other countries, primarily in Africa through our project, Bread and Water for Africa®, We do this by supporting grassroots initiatives and hospitals by providing, medicine, medical supplies, clean water, education, vocational training, literacy and agricultural assistance.

Since 1985, Christian Relief Services has done all it can to help alleviate poverty across America. Through our project, Americans Helping Americans®, we provide emergency assistance, school supplies, new shoes and coats, hygiene items, food, home repair, and help with youth enrichment projects.

Our Impact Through People Like You

In Appalachia, we provide holiday meals, winter clothes, new shoes, and other necessary items to poverty-stricken families.

On American Indian reservations, we work to help provide basic necessities on various reservations in Oklahoma, South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, and North Dakota by contributing food, new clothing, school supplies, and other items.

Through partnerships with local, non-governmental organizations and our affiliates, we provide donations of food, medical supplies, hygiene items, school supplies, and building materials to hospitals, clinics, schools, orphanages, and refugee camps in several African countries. We have programs in Sierra Leone, Kenya, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, Somalia and Burundi.

In Virginia, through the Veterans Supportive Housing Project, Christian Relief Services offers homeless low-income veterans in Fairfax, Virginia, affordable single-unit apartments. The program provides case management services aimed at maintaining housing stability and connecting participants with benefits, employment assistance, medical and mental health services, and other necessary support services determined during assessment and intake.
