Important information for all school districts

For over 30 years, Comfort Caring Canines has been sharing our wonderful therapy dogs with nursing home residents, hospital patients, children’s reading programs, and others in the SE Pennsylvania area. We are now very excited to introduce a new service specifically for local school districts.

Introducing CCC’s Crisis Support Team

Sometimes our communities, and in particular school systems, experience a crisis that is felt by students, staff, and families. Comfort Caring Canines has formed a Crisis Support Team designed to offer comfort to those affected from such situations. Our Crisis Support Team members have been trained in providing support in a school setting following a natural disaster, the death of a student or staff member, or other tragic event. Their dogs are all certified Comfort Caring Canines therapy dogs. At this time of emotion, anxiety, and fear, the positive impact of our therapy dogs may reach students and staff who otherwise may not be reached. The canine-human bond brings healing and comfort at a time when it is desperately needed.

Hopefully, your schools will never find themselves in such a situation. But if the unthinkable occurs, please remember that Comfort Caring Canines is ready and able to assist in student and staff recovery. We will work with you to accommodate your needs regarding schedules and locations. As always, our services are free of charge.

If our Crisis Support Team is needed, or if you would like additional information, please contact us at CST@comfortcaringcanines.org or (267) 225-3696.
