CRIMSON PEAK: COLLECTOR'S EDITION [4K UHD] (2015): "Guillermo del Toro displays his usual visual flair with Crimson Peak but he fails to create an interesting story or characters. This leaves us with an attractive film that lacks much drama or intrigue." Starring Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain. Arrow, $59.95, 5/21/2024.
STIGMATA [BLU-RAY] (1999): "Part of a 'pre-apocalyptic' boom of movies on the cusp of the new millennium, Stigmata looks ridiculous 25 years later. Despite a good cast, the film offers a completely silly and over the top experience." Starring Patricia Arquette, Gabriel Byrne. Capelight, $19.98, 4/2/2024.
BUTCHER, BAKER, NIGHTMARE MAKER [BLU-RAY] (1981): "Silly and scattered, Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker becomes a tedious slasher flick. It lacks anything scary or ominous and just seems ridiculous." Starring Jimmy McNichol, Susan Tyrell. Severin, $29.95, 5/28/2024.
ARMSTRONG [BLU-RAY] (2019): "Expect a pretty solid look at the life of the first man on the Moon via Armstrong. Though not a perfect documentary, it work well as a whole and gives us a solid overview of its subject matter." Starring Harrison Ford, Neil Armstrong. Gravitas, $24.99, 4/2/2024.
MEAN GIRLS [4K UHD] (2004): "A darker than usual look at the teen comedy, Mean Girls works in a general way but rarely kicks into high gear. The movie offers a gently subversive take on the genre and that’s about it, for it seems clever and amusing but falls short of true greatness." Starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams. Paramount, $25.99, 4/30/2024.
MONOLITH [BLU-RAY] (2022): "Although I like the movie’s concept, Monolith never gets into a groove. It lacks drive and fails to find many interesting paths." Starring Lily Sullivan, Erik Thomson. Well Go, $29.98, 4/23/2024.
