Global Content Moderation Solutions

Content moderation is a tool used in order to exclude or prevent access to specific content within a platform or web service. This prerogative is usually used on a discretionary basis by content moderation policies of use or terms of service, but sometimes they are also imposed by law and, in some cases, they are exercised due to pressure from governments.

1. What does Content moderation consist of?
Unlike content blocking or filters, which are carried out on the physical or logical layer of the Internet, are a set of generally public rules that determine the way in which users create or share content on a platform from Internet. These policies usually come in the form of terms and conditions, community rules, acceptable use of the service policies, among others.

Like local filters, the effectiveness of content moderation is usually restricted to the platform where it is hosted, for example: a social network, an application, a website, etc. However, depending on the type of moderation and the importance of the platform, the effects of applying these content moderation actions can range from annoyances and poor quality of service, to serious human rights violations.
