This Sunday's club outride is from well known Jasmyn Harties, in the Hartebeespoort area. Come explore the Eastern shores of Harties Dam on a completely new route. We jump immediately onto a forest trail and out under the R511 for two big loops. The first is flat with some twisty quad bike and single-track in the mix. The Yellow loop includes a water point on the hilltop at the Oxwagon Lodge with refreshments and views of the dam, so it’s suggested Green also ride the extra 3km before turning back. From here we use an old wagon trail down to the main road where Green & Yellow ride the return leg through the Windmill farm.
The second loop starts with a challenging climb into the reserve with rocky trails onto a concrete path, before enjoying a long downhill run through the forest to rejoin the main road at the bottom. Then the long trek up Saartjies Nek before Blue turn off for the last loop of the day, while Red continue onto the Windmill farm road to the carpark.
On arrival drive over the circle to the rear parking entrance. There’s a book store, farmers market, open-air stalls, and plenty of restaurants to choose from.
