Canada's social democratic party. Formed in 1961 out of a fusion of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) and the trade union movement. Has never formed the government federally but provincial sections have formed governments in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Yukon. Current federal leader is Alexa McDonough.
