My Travelogue
Welcome!

It is so nice of you to visit my personal website. Here you'll get to know a lot about me: my interests and hobbies, my family and my travels, and more!
Wonder why my site refers to the Moon, above? Ok, that's my pet name - and I so much love to be called Moon, which signifies that wonderful sphere of light in the dark night sky.

Let me tell you about myself. My name (not my pet name, of course !) is Sumana, and I'm residing in Kolkata (India) with my husband. We two had passed across ups and downs, with trying times in between, in Bangalore, Bhubaneswar and in the USA.

My interests - Singing, Interior decoration, Cooking (little more than a staple diet), Reading (more of Bengali novels) and watching soaps (serials) on TV. Not as professional, but strictly as hobbies, as of now.

Personalities most revered - Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (and of course, my dad).

Most loved novels and reading - Adventures of Feluda (the famous detective stories by Satyajit Ray), Byomkesh Bakshi (detective stories by Saradindu Bandhopadhyay), novels by Saratchandra Chatterjee and Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay (contemporary writer - works like 'Manab Jamin').

In Hindi, Madhuri Dixit and Shahrukh Khan
From Hollywood, Tom Hanks, Keanu Reeves, Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, Kate Winslet, Charlize Theron and Jennifer Aniston

All time favorite movies (though the list is so limited) - In Bengali, all time hits of Uttam ('Thana Theke Ashchhi' and 'Jay Jayanti' deserves a special mention), 'Dewa Newa' and classics by Satyajit Ray (Agantuk, Joy Baba Felunath, Sonar Kella, Shakha Proshakha, Gupi Gaayne Bagha Baayne, Hirok Rajar Deshe), comedies like Chhaddabeshi, Golpo Holeo Shotti, Sriman Prithviraj
In Hindi, Dhoom, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gaam, Lagaan, Dil Chahta Hai and Sadma, comedies like Golmaal, Padosan
Also, a few contemporary Indian English movies like 'Mr and Mrs Iyer',
In English, Hatari, Baby's Day Out, The Lion King, The Independence Day, Sweet November, Signs, The Sound of Music, Titanic, 'Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls' and Cast Away

All time favorite songs - In Bengali, Rabindra Sangeet (song collections by Rabindranath Tagore) and songs in old movies (specially ones in Uttam-Suchitra movies), a few contemporary songs by various artists (Indranil, Nachiketa and so on)
A plethora of old songs, specially by Kishore Kumar (myself, an avid fan), and contemporary film songs by Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan and Abhijeet - in Hindi
In English, "Nothings' Gonna Change my Love For You" (George Benson) and songs by Elton John (specially 'The Circle of Life' and 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight')

Passing thought ...
