EVERYONE HAS A DEBUT

“Do not despise the day of these small beginnings”

Zechariah 4:10

This month, we have interviews with two ladies who are connected with each other not only by the fact that they have the XX chromosomes, but are also electric bassists who are releasing (essentially) their debut albums

Polish bassist Kinga Glyk got a lot of traction by releasing a glorious version of “Tears in Heaven”, while Ireland born/Austrian raised/Boston based Ciara Moser uses here rookie release as a means of gaining awareness for blind people (like herself) who work on navigating through the daily trials of life. Both ladies are admirable in their talents, and both share an enthusiasm of connecting with people through their music.

But the whole idea of starting  a musical career got me thinking.

We all have favorite musicians, artists, writers, you name it. What do they all have in common? They all had to start somewhere.

That can be intimidating, as almost every musician puts their “all” into their debut release, and it may or may not succeed.

I understand, as I wrote my first book The Solo Traveler wondering “who is going to want to buy this thing, with all of the other books out there?”

Still, I felt that I had something to say that only I can say, and that is the point.

Obviously there have been other female musicians, even bass players, and even blind musicians. But each of us is on earth for a reason, and we have to make our footprint somewhere.

Some of the most important musicians of our generation had debut albums that went completely nowhere at first, some releases selling in the hundreds. Others had big impacts right away.

But we all have to start somewhere.

Here we are in May, about to celebrate Ascension Day and Pentecost, 40 and 50 days after Easter. Who would have thought this one man born in a manger would have changed the world. But He had to start somewhere.

We also celebrate Memorial Day, when we give honor to the men and women who gave their lives to serve this country. Our own country had a small beginning, just a few people on a couple of landings in the early 1600s, meeting with Indians. One, in fact, Squanto, was a former captured slave who spoke both the Indian dialect and English. Talk about God’s Providence! But, Squanto had to start somewhere!

So, no matter where you are in your life, you are eventually going to make a choice or decision that may change your direction or status. That’s ok. We all start somewhere. And we can also start over. That’s they joy of living on God’s green earth.

WE GET EMAILS…

Thank you George!!!  We are grateful that you were there and enjoyed what we have put our hearts and minds to…to bring Azar’s magical compositions to life. So many more to go. Azar’s having a blast and is always saying …I’m going to really learn how to play the saxophone… he’s got more for us!  We will see you again, soon! Much love and peace.
Appreciate You,
Tracy Hannah
