Beth Chai is home to all who seek to celebrate Jewish values, history, and culture within a vibrant and caring community. We warmly welcome Jews of all denominations and backgrounds, interfaith/intercultural couples and their families, LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families, and those who need accommodation for disabilities. We explore and embody the humanist values in Judaism, namely a commitment to social justice and making the world a better place.

We celebrate all major Jewish holidays, run vibrant adult education and social action programs, and offer Sunday School from pre-K through 8th grade. Our B’nai Mitzvah program allows young people and their families to create meaningful ceremonies marking this coming-of-age moment. 

We draw members from all over the metro area, including Montgomery County, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. Beth Chai has brought families together in community, education, and celebration since 1978.

Beth Chai welcomes new members who are Jewish or identify as Jewish. Many of our current members were formerly Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox Congregations members.
