The artist’s job is to create an image that consistently attains awareness, so that it becomes a daily presence instead of fading into the background. The viewer’s job is to see the artwork through their own eyes, without the opaque overlay of anyone else’s opinion. In everyday terms, if the painting greets its owner each day when they enter the room, it’s doing its job, too.

I reduce primary colors to transparency in clear medium, and apply them one at a time, with secondary colors mixing back to front. The result is a luminosity difficult to convey in digital, along with a sense of surface depth. Images resolve with distance, and my work can be immediately recognized. Foundations are studio-built.
