Emmanuel Music engages with audiences and musicians to explore the enduring questions of our shared human experience, building on our core commitment to the music of J.S. Bach.
Distinguished Bach scholar Christoph Wolff, Adams University Professor Emeritus at Harvard University, presents a talk on the four cantatas Emmanuel Music will perform at Bachfest Leipzig this June: BWV 94, BWV 101, BWV 113, and BWV 137.
Prof. Wolff will illuminate Bach’s compositional approaches, share his insights, and deepen our appreciation of this four marvelous works from the second Jahrgang - part of the overall Chorale Cantata festival at this year’s Bachfest!
The Bach Institute celebrates our 50+ years of experience studying and performing the works of Bach with public talks, open rehearsals, and concerts; we welcome a select group of talented musicians for an intensive workshop on Bach cantata arias , culminating in a final Showcase concert.
Continuing our 50-year old tradition, Emmanuel Music presents Bach's astounding human document, in the liturgical setting for which it was intended, as well as other sacred works. Sundays at 10.00 am September - May.
Bach wrote some of the most sublime music, but that doesn't mean you should only observe it from a distance, on a pedestal. Here are some opportunities for self reflection and personal connection through the music of our favorite composer and those he inspired.
