The First New Hampshire Regiment is a recreation of one of the three regiments of “regulars” from New Hampshire to serve in the Continental Army under Gen. Washington during the American Revolution.

An Historical Research Project Compiled by Jim Hayden, 1st NH Regt.

The 1st New Hampshire Regiment was an infantry unit that came into existence on 22 May 1775 at the beginning of the American Revolutionary War. John Stark was the regiment’s first commander.

During the years of the Revolution, most American regiments went through a number of uniforms. The styles and colors varied according to the availability of materials.
