The Derby Doggies were surrendered to us from an older lady that was unable to care for them. They are 7 week old (born 3-16) healthy black lab mix puppies having 5 boys and 2 girls. Thanks to our awesome foster parent volunteers for stepping up quickly allowing us to move them directly from the owner into foster homes immediately!
These pups are looking for home that abide by the GRRAND puppy guidelines:
Puppies are a lot of work, and if you are interested in a GRRAND puppy and have children, PLEASE SEE THE ADOPTION FAQs section of the website for more detailed info. GRRAND policies stipulate a few important things that may stop you from applying, and here are 2 big ones-
A: GRRAND will NOT place a puppy under the age of 6 months with families with children under 6 yrs old
B: Any applicant with children under the age of 16, will require a home with direct access to a securely fenced yard… meaning direct access to the yard from the home… so this means no apartments or condos.
As with all puppies, they will need a home where someone is home most of the time as they need to be fed regularly, and let to go outside consistently and constantly ALL DAY LONG so potty training can be a breeze. They will be looking for a family with LOTS of time and patience to socialize and work with a puppy so they can grow up to be good pups! ***Exercise and direction are a must as a tired puppy is a good puppy!! It is a lot of fun, but it is a lot of work, and if you don't have the time, an active and non-stop playful puppy may not be for you!
Families must understand there needs to be constant supervision as children of all ages need to learn to respect an animal and puppies, and need to be taught boundaries. We are excited these pups will get to know what a nice soft bed, in a warm and cozy home with a loving family is all about!
We will update as we learn more about these cuties, but if you are interested in meeting them, they are in a foster home waiting for you! Please fill out an application at GRRAND.org

Exterminator goes on Monday! They’re such good, happy puppies and are so food motivated that they’re already learning “sit”! Now if I could only teach them to stop biting my shoes while I walk LOL!"

Anna is a 1 year(ish) Great Pyrenees Mix who was rescued from deplorable living conditions with 4 other dogs. Her rescurer could not keep them all, so she reached out to GRRAND. Anna is very new to GRRAND and we are just learning about her but we do know she is house-trained and gets along well with other dogs.
She will need a secure above ground fenced yard as Great Pyrs love to be in their yard to protect and patrol, and this happens best when they are in a secure space! Great Pyrenees and Goldens have a lot of common traits, but differences as well. To learn more about differences and similarities, we suggest you research both breeds. This beauty is in a foster home and this is what she has to say:
"Anna is very sweet, gentle and playful. She and my resident dog get along fantastically! They love to run and chase each other in the backyard and wrestle around. She is independent and is perfectly content just laying in the backyard in a shady spot and watching everything going on around her. She will follow me everywhere I go in the house or out in the yard. She seems to like just being in the company of her people. When she is out playing, she will regularly check in and she will also come when called. She doesn't bark much. Anna loves playing with soft and plush toys and bully sticks. She has not shown any resource guarding with dog food, water, toys, spaces, or me. She is not startled by any sounds – even the vacuum cleaner and storms – she does perfectly fine. She is house trained and doesn't get on any furniture (although she is welcome to!). Anna continues to become more confident and opens up more every day. She doesn't seem to be a snuggler, but is happy just being in the same room. She will seek affection however and likes scratches and rubs. When my alarm goes off in the morning, she comes back into my bedroom and waits next to the bed for me to get up. I find this so endearing! Anna is an absolute delight to have around and whomever adopts her will be very happy 🙂 "!

Anna Belle (1 year old, at 65lbs) and Emma Jane (1 year old at 45lbs) are two very sweet and bonded golden doodles that MUST be adopted together. They are only being turned in because of the owner's health and they feel it is not fair to the dogs since they are so young, not to get more exercise than just in their back yard. Their people also need to leave for long periods of time for doctor visits so the dogs are left inside too long. Both pups were crated when little but since about 4-5 months have not been, but now they are gated in the kitchen, hall and pantry area when left alone. They have been known to counter surf, and chew on things they should not, so things are kept up and out of the way for no temptations! At night they do sleep in bed with their people! They are really sweet dogs, and are looking for their forever family where they will get lots of love, activity and TLC!

Baxter and Rogan are 1 year old, SUPER HANDSOME, Bernadoodle littermates we would really like to place as a pair! They were pulled from a shelter by a Pit Bull Rescue as they saw these guys and could not say no… so they then contacted GRRAND. They are Floofy fun loving boys looking for a fun loving family that can give them the copious amounts of exercise and direction they need to be good pups! They ARE still puppies, and a tired pup is a good pup! One of our volunteers who met these guys said "They are big and beautiful- very playful and just love wrestling with each other! They are going to make one lucky family an awesome pair of family dogs"!
We are still learning about these silly guys, but if you would like to meet them, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org

This is Bernie… our sweet Doodle boy!
Bernie came to GRRAND from a shelter in late November. He was in terrible condition upon intake and required shaving due to such deep mats. He was also quite unsocialized and has needed a lot of behavioral support to become ready for adoption.
We’re so excited for Bernie to be able to continue on the next leg of his journey to finding his forever home! This affectionate boy now loves to jump up and give hugs to his caretakers He will need a family with the time and patience to continue helping him come out of his shell to see all the great things in the world and to give him the attention and exercise he desires.
He needs a secure home with an above-ground fenced yard because he could be a flight risk. Bernie resource guards and since he cannot be retrained to change this behavior, he needs a home without any kids, grandkids or children visiting the home. With his resource guarding behaviors, Bernie does not like it when other dogs or people get around his food (or favorite things) so he will need to be fed separately from other dogs however, he does love to play with other dogs and does great with them! We do not believe he should go to a home with cats.
Interested families will have the support of our trainer to help understand Bernie and get him settled into his new home
If you are interested in fostering Bernie, please complete a foster application: https://grrand.org/foster-process/
If you think Bernie may be the dog for you, please complete an adoption application: https://grrand.org/adoption-process/

They LOVE food and are very highly food motivated which makes them very eager to learn! They have already learned SIT. Biscuit is a bit more outgoing and playful while Man-O would prefer to snuggle in your lap. Loud noises are scary which we are working on but overall these puppies are great and would be a perfect addition to your Family"!

Blossom and Flower are a bonded pair of 1.5 year old English Cream Golden Retrievers and they are looking for a new home together! They are both sweet and trusting even though they were dumped by their breeder and had to be trapped along with the other 5 dogs that were found with earlier this year.
They are both high energy but within minutes of meeting you they roll over for belly rubs and head scratches. So affectionate and trusting. Not to mention they both look like they could be on the front of a magazine. They are absolutely gorgeous with wonderful personalities that somehow outshine their beauty.
They are new to GRRAND and we are still learning about them, but if you would like to meet them, please fill ot an app at GRRAND.org
Bobby Earl is a 16 month old, 60ish lb Goldendoodle puppy looking for a home where he can get plenty of exercise and direction that a young boy like him needs. He was surrendered to GRRAND as he did not get along well with the other dogs in the home. He is said to do fine with other dogs outside of the home and he loves people.
He is house-trained, crate-trained and is said to walk well on leash.
We are still learning about Bobby and update as we learn more. If you would like to meet him, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Bosco is a 7 month old, about 50lb male Golden Retriever puppy looking for a home where he can get lots of exercise and training. He came from a family with kids ages 6, 7 and 8 and another dog, but he was not a fan of the neighbors small dog.
He sleeps in a covered crate at night, is potty-trained, knows a few commands but does not like to share his food. His family says: "Bosco has received puppy training at a board and train facility for 2 weeks and did well. He was to go back in August for another 2 weeks since he was only 4 months old for initial training. We need to make this hard decision to rehome him for the safety of our neighbors small dog".
Bosco needs a family that has the time and patience to work with him and give him lots of daily exercise.
We are still learning more, so please check back later for updates.
If you want to meet Bosco, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Bronco is a little over a year old, about 45ish lb Goldendoodle looking for an active home where he can get the activity and energy outlets he needs. He was surrendered to GRRAND as his family was moving and no longer had the yard space he needed to run and play. He needs to be an only pet in the home… no other dogs or cats.
He is house-trained and Bronco's past family did not crate him, as he was rarely left home alone by himself. After some time in a temporary foster home, we have found that he can NOT be crated, and will need to go to a home where he can have full run of the home. They said "He slept on the couch or on a blanket in the living room, and sometimes he slept on the floor of their bedroom". Bronco knows some basic commands.
"Bronco is a very sweet, Goldendoodle who loves to cuddle, is eager to please, and wants to be your best buddy and companion!! There’s not a mean bone in this dog’s body. He will give you a submissive smile if he thinks you are displeased with him – he is one of the few dogs that will show their top teeth in a silly grin to win you over. In sum, he’ll be your affectionate, fun best friend.
Goldendoodles are known to be loyal, intelligent, playful, and sweet natured but they are high energy dogs, so they are not low maintenance. He needs someone who wants an exercise partner. Walking and even running him every day is important (3.5- 4 miles daily average). 90% of the time he walks beautifully at heel and 10% of the time, he wants to pounce at the squirrels and birds. He loves to ride in the car and he’s generally calm in public so he’s a good travel companion. He's good with other dogs, but needs to be the only dog in the home, and cannot be in a home with a cat. This guy has been through a lot, and he has exhibited some resource guarding of his person with other dogs in the home. He needs calm, gentle, and firm guidance to perform at his best. At a year, he only recently learned the seven common commands (sit, stay, down, off, come, heel and no) and still needs some practice every day to reinforce his learning. He’ll work for affection and treats. He learns very quickly so he's perfect for someone wanting to do an obstacle course.
While he sheds very little, his beautiful coat requires regular care with brushing several times a week to avoid mats and 6–8-week haircuts. His people will be rewarded for the effort with a lot of praise on the street because he is a very handsome boy that attracts attention.
Once home from his exercise, he’s well behaved and has now learned to stay either sitting or lying down upon command. Because doodles are prone to bloat, Bronco stays on his mat for 30 minutes after his meals with some encouragement. Bronco is not crate trained, but he has been good leaving him for a couple hours at a time. This smart boy has been taught not to go near the exit when the foster is leaving the house, so he doesn’t scratch at the door. He understands the instruction to lay down away from the door and stay but he will backslide if not reinforced. With proper cues, he has learned not to door-dash. He will counter surf for food when left alone but he hardly ever barks.
His first family surrendered him at a year which has caused him some insecurity and fear of separation. His favorite place to be is right by your side. He needs someone who can provide him with a consistent routine and structure, so he regains his confidence. For example, he will walk away from his food to check on where you are. Without routine and structure, high energy dogs like Bronco could become destructive. Doodles like Bronco are bred for companionship so he shouldn’t be left alone for long periods of time. Bronco seems most interested in people. In the dog yard, he doesn't show much interest in dogs until other dogs show interest in playing with him. There are a couple dogs he has gotten to know and he loves hanging with them".
Would like to meet Bronco? Please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Bubble Gum is one of the Ice Cream Social bunch who was rescued with their momma (Maya) who was wandering around to find food for herself so she could take care of her puppies. Cain is a 7.5-year old senior boy. He will do best in a one-person home that is low-stress and quiet, which means no children or other pets. An experienced dog person would be best to help manage his behaviors. Once Cain knows you, he will be your best friend.
Hi! I'm Callie. I'm a gorgeous 2+ years old Pyrenees/Lab mix! I arrived at the kennel in late October, so I haven't been there too long.
I've had a hard time over the last year. I was a stray for most of that time. A friendly postal worker noticed me and kept an eye on me. Eventually she and another good samaritan trapped me and took me in while they found a great rescue for me to come to.
Of course I was very scared and intimidated when I first arrived at GRRAND. I would curl up in the corner of my kennel and not want to come out. But the kennel volunteers would sit with me in my run for hours, calmly petting and reassuring me that everything was about to get so much better – and they were right.
Now I get to run and play with a ton of dogs in the play yard. I have so many new friends. I willingly go to the volunteers now for love and treats. We even go walking off-site and they tell me how wonderful I am on a leash. I get to sleep in a nice warm kennel with a blanket. I get two meals a day and as many treats as I can convince the vols to give me. It's so much better than living alone in deserted structures and dumpster diving for food!
So I've come a really long way. I'm liking other dogs, trusting people and starting to enjoy life indoors!
I think it's time for the next stage of my life where I can move in with a loving family. Could you help get me out of the kennel and into your loving family? I hope so!
Callie was initially very scared and withdrawn, but with lots of love and attention from our awesome volunteers, she is starting to come out of her shell.
She is very calm and sweet. Our vet thinks she's around 2.5 years old. She loves to play with most other dogs in the play yards, as long as they are calm and laid-back. We also have her walking on a leash and she's doing wonderfully. She loves to be gently petted.
She is still a little timid with people she doesn't know, but warms as soon as she trusts you.
Until Callie is settled in a home she is going to be a flight risk, so she does need a secure fenced yard. She can scale a 4' fence, so ideally the home will have a 6' privacy fence.
She can go with another calm dog. As she is a flight risk pup she will not be able to go in a home with children under 13. We don't know how she does with cats. She does not mess in her kennel run, which is a decent indication she is house trained, but not a guarantee. Her energy level is moderate to low.
Callie is now ready for her next step, to go to a home, either foster or adoptive. Please fill out an app at GRRAND.org if you would like to meet her!

COURTESY POST – NOT A GRRAND DOG…
For more information or to apply, please contact Alicia Noschang at (513) 760-9337 PLEASE READ POST before calling and do not apply to GRRAND website
C.C. is looking for an adventure-loving family to devote herself to and who are devoted to her!
C.C. was surrendered to GRRAND’s behavioral trainer because she was not a good fit for the home she was in. Now, C.C. is looking for a family to love and appreciate the free spirit personality that matches her free spirit hair!
C.C. is an almost 3 year old, approximately 65lb (strong!) medium to high energy Doodle who requests a home with:
another playful dog
no children under 16 years old
no cats
above-ground fenced yard
This adventure dog loves walks and going to the river to swim. She can get overstimulated in chaotic environments, so she would much prefer 1 on 1 adventures with her people instead of going to breweries and or crowded places. She absolutely loves playing with another dog but likes an opportunity to get to know them first (she is NOT a doggy daycare or dog park dog).
As C.C. is not a GRRAND dog, please contact our behavioral trainer, Alicia, at (513) 760-9337 (texting preferred) if interested in learning more.
A home in Greater Cincinnati would be PREFERRED so you can continue working with Alicia throughout C.C.’s transition, but some perfect type of exceptions can be made for C.C.’s perfect home.
Cookies and Cream is one of the Ice Cream Social bunch who was rescued with their momma (Maya) who was wandering around to find food for herself so she could take care of her puppies. He is a chunky guy, so it looks like she has been good to her puppies! We estimate these puppies are about 1 month old (as of 4-28) and Golden-Mixes and they are looking for homes that abide by the GRRAND puppy guidelines:
Coral is a 3 month old Goldendoodle puppy that came in with her 7 other siblings. She is currently in a foster home and they say: "She spent five days at the vet clinic being treated for Parvo, and she was a very sick little puppy. I’ve had her home now for four days and she’s doing very very well. It took her a couple days here to rest but she’s in full puppy mode now! I’m afraid she’s become a lapdog because she was so ill, and she loves to nap in my lap and follows me everywhere.
Coral is a bundle of energy now that she has gotten well over Parvo. She loves my dogs, the loves the outdoors and loves to do zoomies in the backyard. She is cautious at first when she encounters something new, she sits down to think about it and then she goes full force to meet it. She loves the neighborhood kids and loves all dogs she’s met so far and is becoming quite the playful puppy! I have not caged her because she sleeps so well in the bedroom in her bed along with my dogs. This pup loves like crazy!! She gives kisses and warm hugs and when she’s tired, she wants to be a lapdog. I really thought she might be getting too attached to me, but then I had people in last night and she was giving them the same love. So I guess she’s not! I think she loves whoever she’s with, she’s a wonderful puppy. She’ll be the perfect addition to any family". Coral is looking for a home that abides by the GRRAND puppy guidelines…

Hi! We are very bonded 22-month-old Goldendoodles. We arrived at GRRAND in March after an Amish breeder surrendered us. We didn't have names so, as it was springtime, our GRRAND people called us Daffodil (Daffy) and Iris!
Unlike our friends at the kennel who also came from Amish breeders, we are more social and love all people and other dogs. We play in the play yard daily with other GRRAND dogs, and we love it when volunteers play with us, especially if they have treats. We've been working on our walking skills and are doing well. We love to get outside of the kennel to meet all the new smells!!
We've only ever been in a kennel, but we are perfect, and beautiful, so we are hoping someone will see this post and give us the opportunity to go to a real home with a TV, doggie beds, furniture, and, of course, a loving family. If you meet us, you will fall in love and we hope you take us home forever!
From the GRRAND kennel: Daffodil (Daffy) and Iris are a bonded pair and need to stay together!
They came into the GRRAND program with her litter mate Iris in March of this year from an Amish breeder. Dogs from Amish breeders are usually not well socialized and very timid of humans.
These two are an exception; they have come so far in seven or so months they have been with us.
They love people and being petted. They LOVE treats. They love playing with the other sweet dogs at GRRAND Central Station. They are high energy and love to run and play but have shown no aggression to people or dogs.
We recently started walking them off property on leash; they love the new experience, smells, sounds, wildlife, and are doing great! They still pull some, but we continue to work on that.
They do not mess in their kennel but that doesn't necessarily mean they are house trained. It does indicate they will be easy to train.
We now believe this beautiful pair are ready for a home with a secure above ground fence. They will be flight risk pups until they are settled so no children under 13.
Please consider taking these pups "

DeeDee (Diane on the GRRAND website) is the last of Margaret's litter. She is learning to be a real dog, including yard sitting, pub sitting, porch sitting, neighborhood watching, and generally being bored with my zoom meetings. She is almost 3.5 months, and walks beautifully on a slack leash (better than my dogs), is crate-trained and housebroken, and has never chewed anything other than toys. As a mostly-Pyr, she is incredibly low-key, entertains herself, and loves all dogs and people (not cat tested, but hasn't reacted on walks). She's the easiest puppy I've had in 20+ years of fostering and owning!
She is one of Margaret's puppies that were born on Jan 18, 2024! We know momma Margaret is a Great Pyrenees, but we do not know what the breed of the father is, and this is what their foster mom says "All of Margaret's babies are very advanced, already using wee pads on a regular basis, and today is their 3 wk bday! #soproud"!
When they are ready to go to their forever families, Margaret's puppies will be looking for a home that abides by the GRRAND puppy guidelines:

Applicants should also expect Margaret's puppies to possibly be big, and you should be prepared for that sweet and independent Great Pyrenees personality… to know the Great Pyr breed is to love them, but they are not Goldens, and we suggest you do some research on this beautiful breed before applying! He will need a secure above ground fenced yard as Great Pyrs love to be in their yard to protect and patrol, and this happens best when they are in a secure space!
We will update as we learn more about these cuties, but if you are interested in meeting them, they are in a foster home waiting for you! Please fill out an application at GRRAND.org
Doc is a beautiful 4 year old, 100+ish lb Labrador who has just arrived at GRRAND. One thing for sure, this dude needs to lose a pound or…20!
The kennel staff says "He is doing well at the kennel. He loves attention and to be petted. We are told he cannot go with children, so he is looking for an adult only dog savvy home, and we believe he needs to be the only pet in the home. We are still learning about Doc so please check back in a couple of weeks for more info on this handsome guy"!
Duke is an adorable five year old Velcro Golden… He is undeniably handsome, calm, sweet, very loving, loves belly rubs and wants to be right by your side! This boy is looking for a special home, as sadly he has tested positive for heartworms. Duke needs a very calm and patient home… no young kids and no young dogs, while he goes through the heartworm treatment. This will be about an 8-10 week treatment, where you can sit and be a couch potato together with this darling boy! GRRAND will be right there with you to provide the support and funds needed to get him through this.
The volunteers at the GRRAND Central Station kennel say "He hasn't messed in his run, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's house trained as he spent most of his time outside in the past. We have started walking him on leash and he does pull a little, but is getting better by the day. He seems to like other dogs and has had no issues with the pups at GCS. Whoever opens their heart and home to this special boy, will be the luckiest people ever"!
If you would like to be the lucky ones, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ASAP!!!

"Eloise is all personality! The first to demand pets in the morning and equally as happy to let you hold her until she falls asleep in the evening. She also loves exploring but looks back at you as though asking for approval. Another SUPER LOVE BUG from Elsa’s litter! She loves playing with her siblings but is also adventurous enough to want to hold her own with our larger foster pups from another litter. So brave!
She is just so sweet, how could you not fall in love with this angelic little face"?
If you are interested in adopting Eloise she will be ready for her forever home along with her brothers and sisters starting March 31st.

He is in a foster home and here is what his foster mom has to say… "Emmett is very playful, wants to be heard, and at the center of every playtime, but just as much, he wants to be snuggled when he is tired as in general, he is a pretty laid back guy and we have been calling him Easy Going Emmett! He is doing fantastic at potty training, as he lets me know when he needs to go out and has not had many accidents and he has not had any accidents in the crate. He is food motivated and has started following some commands when the treat bag is present. He is growing quickly… he sat on my bathroom scale the other morning and weighed in a 16lb! Alexandra and Exterminator are in the same foster home and she says: "Derby dogs Alexandra and Exterminator checking in… Alexandra went to the vet Wednesday and got a clean bill of health and Exterminator goes on Monday! They’re such good, happy puppies and are so food motivated that they’re already learning “sit”! Now if I could only teach them to stop biting my shoes while I walk LOL!"

This beautiful girl is Faith… Faith was one of the breeder dogs that was rescued from horrid conditions from the Amish puppy mill rescue in early Dec. Faith & Ivy are a bonded pair and as of now (mid-March 2024) we anticipate that they may be ready to consider being transitioned to the right adoptive family, possibly by June.
**** Faith continues to be extremely unsocialized at this time, and the type of home she is needing is not just your typical home. There are quite a few MUST HAVES for her and they are: MUST have someone who is experienced in helping unsocialized breeder dogs transition from the kennel situation to a home. This is NOT just for anyone, as the time and patience put into helping to rehabilitate these dogs is huge. She also MUST have another stable dog, MUST have a secure above ground fenced yard with direct access to the yard from the house, MUST have someone home more than the typical working family, and a home with NO kids under the age of 16.
We are still learning about Faith but we do know she is very fearful of everything right now. You can tell she WANTS to get love but she is very hesitant and when one of the volunteers was able to pet her (once), she laid down in fear. Faith has only known the small confines of a kennel, so this new world she has been introduced to is very scary for her. She finds comfort in other dogs as when she is in the play area with volunteers, she was very indifferent and not so interested in people, but when she is outside with some other dogs, she will get excited and bounce around some.
We know we need to get her out of the kennel so she can begin her new journey in life. She needs to find a forever family or foster family that is excited to show her what love and compassion are about. Faith is going to take time… things can not be rushed for her. As said above, she is going to need to have a stable dog living in the home so they can show her the ropes and help build her confidence in everything, especially people. Faith is considered a flight risk, and will need a home with a secure above ground fenced yard with direct access to the yard from the home. We do not know how she will be with kids and or chaos, so a home with no kids under the age of 16 is best and we do not know how she is with cats at this time.
If you want to be the one to show Faith what life as a beloved family member is all about, please fill out an application:

6 yr old Mac & 3 yr old Fan are a wonderful pair of Amish breeder Goldens who just came in from a shelter!!! They are brand new to GRRAND and we do not know much except these Goldens are not the typical Amish breeder dogs, as they are friendly, confident and very pretty. They are very attached and bonded to each other and must be adopted as a pair. Mac follows Fan everywhere.
We will update as we learn more, but if you would like to get these 2 beauties out of the kennel, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org

Fred is about a 2-3 year old male, Black Labrador Retriever that was a stray and pulled from a shelter by GRRAND volunteers. Sadly, Fred has tested positive for heartworms and is looking for a calm laid back home that can help him get through his treatments. He is currently in a temporary home and they say: "He rode perfectly in the car. At GRRAND he was pretty good in the tub and sadly he had a myriad of ticks and we are still finding them this morning.
He slept on his crate (which he chose immediately when he saw it). He doesn't countersurf nor get on the furniture. He follows me but we are still working on leash walking. He refuses to leave the kitchen. He gets along well with our other dogs and they too have accepted him.
He didn't eat last night but did when I enticed him with a bit of cheese this morning. He's quite intelligent and already responds to his name You can see his coat is so shiny"!
We will update as we learn more, but if you would like to meet Fred, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Our volunteers spent some time with them this past Sunday to get these super cute photos of these affectionate and curious pups. You won't be able to help but fall in love with them. We would really like to see them adopted together and Club K9 Dog Bar has graciously offered to give 2 free 1 year memberships to an approved and finalized adoption of these floofs! We can't thank Club K9 Dog Bar enough for always caring and supporting our pups. Now for more on George and Jane…
Jane and her brother George are 2.5 year old, 100ish lbs (each), beautiful and bonded Great Pyrenees looking for their forever family together who can offer them the security of a fenced in yard and a warm loving home. Their family had to make the hard decision to surrender them, for their safety and needing better containment.
We are told by our volunteers that "They are a fabulous pair… super sweet and calm, house trained, beautiful, young, great with cats, lived with other dogs and overall very easy dogs"!!
Jane and George are looking for a loving foster or forever family, with a secure above ground fenced yard as Great Pyrs love to be in their yard to protect and patrol, and this happens best when they are in a secure space! Great Pyrenees are a special and amazing Large Guardian Dog breed, and interested applicants should be prepared for that sweet and independent Great Pyrenees personality… to know the Great Pyr breed is to love them, but they are not Goldens, and we suggest you do some research on this beautiful breed to read about the differences.
They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.
We are still learning about these 2 cuties, but if you think you would like to meet them, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org

Grainger is new to GRRAND but we know he was found on the side of the road a few miles from his home. The person who found him contacted the owner who said that she couldn’t keep him. She said not long ago, he found a baby kitten and brought it home and that Grainger is a gentle giant to the max!
He was an outdoor dog only, left to roam with no fenced yard or protection which leads us to believe he needs house training, but as we learn more, we will update. Grainger is looking for a home with a secure above ground fenced yard as Great Pyrs love to be in their yard to protect and patrol, and this happens best when they are in a secure space where they can stay safe! Great Pyrenees and Goldens have a lot of common traits, but differences as well. To learn more about differences and similarities, we suggest you research both breeds.
We sure hope we can find this super handsome, sweet and laid back guy an amazing new home where he will know what it's like to live inside with a warm cozy bed and a family who loves him so much!! Someone is going to get really lucky to have him! Please check back for more info about Grainger but in the meantime, If you would like to meet him, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
This 1 yr 5 mo old, 90lb handsome (and a little overweight) dude is Griffy! He is looking for an experienced adult only household (this means no kids or visiting grandkids) in the Cincinnati/Northern KY area only, who has the time to work with him on continued training. We need him to stay in this area as his trainer is there and needs to be apart of future follow up training with him and his new people.
This is what we know so far as we are still learning about him: "He is fine with the outdoor cat (GRRAND did cat test him) and free-range chickens. He was crate trained while being housebroken but has not been in a crate since he was 6 mo old. He is consistent about going outside to potty; consistent about staying off furniture; and does not chew up any belongings. He lived in a home with no fence so he is on a leash when outdoors". We do also know that Griffy gets along and plays well with other dogs (of all sizes) as he has spent lots of time on doggie play dates and has fun romping around as a part of the group!
If you would like to learn more about Griffy, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Gunner is a 2 year old, 60lb Labradoodle, looking for a home where he can get LOTS of exercise and direction! Gunner is a very smart and high energy boy, looking for a home that will take him for hikes, runs or anything that will be a good energy outlet for him, and a secure fenced yard is very important too.
He is crate-trained and needs to be the only dog in the home. He is new to GRRAND and we are still learning aout him, so please check back later for more info.

Merry Christmas from our "Fifth Dogs of Christmas" … Harper!
Hi! My name is Harper, and I'm a pure Golden girl, nearly 3 years old. I'm fairly new to GRRAND, but I'm settling in nicely! Everyone loves me and I love to be cuddled and hugged!
My family gave me to GRRAND as I have a little issue with my bladder. I was sad, but the GRRAND people are so nice, and they are helping me with my little issue. Still, I'd rather be in a nice warm home with my own family!
So that's what I want for Christmas – my own family to love!
Merry Christmas!
Love, Harper
Looking for a sweet Golden that won't swipe everything from your coffee table? Harper is your girl, as she has no tail to do so!
Harper is a 3 year old, medium sized at about 60lbs (or so), female Golden Retriever who had some trauma in her past as a puppy and is being surrendered as the people who had her can't care for her anymore. She has been surrendered because she is incontinent… She had trauma to her tail when she was a puppy which caused nerve damage and incontinence, and her tail had been amputated. GRRAND is working with her and vets to see what can be done to help her, so we will update as we learn more. Her former owners say: "We have done all that we could do for her. We do not have the time and attention that she really seeks and needs. We have developed some things in our lives and have some things facing us soon that we are needing to find her a new home urgently. She is incontinent as she suffered from a tail evulsion when she was young which caused her to have some nerve damage causing the incontinence issue. Vet said she does have a little muscle tone it is isn't completely gone, she does squat somewhat to pee at times but her bowels she doesn't as well. We did surgery to remove her tail since it was dead as recommended by our vet. She is very sweet and just wants to be loved on. She would do well I feel in a home where someone could give her more attention and possibly with another companion". She is good with other dogs and has lived with 3 other Goldens, including a littermate.
She has spent most of her time outdoors, and we know she will be so happy to finally get to know what living full time in a warm home, with a soft bed and non-stop TLC is all about!
We will update as we learn more, but if you would like to meet sweet Harper, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Holly is a 5 year old, 58lb Golden, who came to us from one of our first large groups of Amish puppy mill rescues back in Dec of 2022. She was petrified of all people, but our amazing volunteers had been working hard to make slow and steady progress introducing Holly to the world and then she found a family in Dec 2023!! She has come such a long way. She's starting to trust a few people and she loves playing with other dogs. She loved her new adoptive momma and her three other dogs, but sadly, her new momma passed away unexpectedly and Holly has had to come back to the kennel!!! She's back with some of her other Amish buddies, but we can tell she is so confused and sad as she really was thriving in a loving home!
This is what we have learned about Holly:
Who would do great with her:
Holly is looking for a special foster home with a family experienced in the socialization needs of puppy mill dogs and who are home more often than the average working people. She will need a secure above-ground fenced-in yard with direct access to the home from the yard, and no children under the age of 16 in the house, as she is still considered a flight risk. She must have another stable, confident dog in the home as they will do wonders for helping her progress as they will show her the ropes and help build her confidence. We have no information at this time about cats. Her foster home will need to have the time and patience to continue showing her how amazing a family and a home are, and the reward in the end is so worth the time.

Hopper was born on 3-27-2024. Their momma Roonie is a beautiful Great Pyr Mix, (we do not know the breed of their daddy) and he and his siblings are looking for a home that abides by the GRRAND puppy guidelines:

CALM FOSTER or FOREVER HOME NEEDED ASAP!
This is Joe! He is an 90+lb, (everyone says he is a big boy) handsome Golden with an age guess of over 2 years old, who has been given a second chance at a good life! Joe who was apparently shot and left on the side of the road in a rural part of Ky, was taken to a shelter that could not care for him and they contacted GRRAND. GRRAND brought him in from the shelter and got him to the emergency vet right away. This poor guy has some skin abrasions, a fractured left front leg AND is heartworm positive, but we are happy to report he is doing well in his temporary foster home. He's such a great dog and has been so grateful for all the care he is receiving. Joe is house trained and well behaved indoors. Due to his broken leg, we have not had him with other dogs or taken him on leash walks yet.
UPDATE:
Update on Joe, our resilient 95 lb lapdog Golden
On May 2, Joe is undergoing surgery to amputate his injured leg due to a fracture caused by buckshot. After careful consideration, the surgeon determined that his leg wouldn't regain full function with surgery, and there's a risk of bone infection.
Despite the challenges, Joe is already adapting remarkably well to getting around on three legs. He's a big-hearted, loving guy who can manage a few steps on three legs. While shallow steps are easier for him, he's learning to tackle regular steps too, especially with a little assistance.
We believe Joe is eminently adoptable and will make a wonderful addition to any loving home. He'll be staying overnight at the hospital post-surgery and will return to his foster home tomorrow.
Let's send Joe lots of love and positive vibes for a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery! If you're interested in giving this resilient pup his forever home, reach out to us. Together, we can help Joe find the loving family he deserves.
Please consider adopting Joe, or even fostering him as he is in a temporary foster home where he can stay for only a couple more weeks (as of 4-1). Joe needs a quiet home, without another young active dog or young kids, since he needs to remain calm as he completes heartworm treatment.
If you would like to meet Joe, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
John is a 6 month old Golden-Mix puppy that was surrendered to GRRAND by a breeder. He is currently in a TEMPORARY foster home will be needing new foster home by May 15!!
“Let me add some fun to your life by ADOPTING ME!”
I LOVE people, I LOVE other dogs, I LOVE children! I play hard and then I nap hard. I am want to be part of your active family. I have so much fun playing outside with my foster brothers and I don’t mind being in my penned area with my toys when my foster mom is working. I sleep all night long in a crate and haven’t had accidents in my foster home since I learned to go outside on my first day here. I’m inquisitive and don’t want to be left out of the fun. I learned to sit in a day and can’t wait for you to teach me more! I need to go to a home with another dog that can help me build confidence and show me the ropes".
We are told, "He’s the sweetest boy – immediately made himself at homein his temp foster home. Loves others dogs and people including little ones. Comes when called and is learning to sit today". John is looking for a home that abides by the GRRAND puppy guidelines:

This is Joker-now AKA Joey… A Great Pyrenees When this poor pup came to the kennel on August 2nd, 2023 he was 6 weeks old, and absolutely terrified. He came in with his 11 siblings, but was by far the most fearful. We are happy to report, he is doing great in his foster home!!!
This guy… he has blossomed in his foster home! Here is what his foster parents have to say…. We’ve now had Joey for over a month. He is opening up more every day. Our dogs have seemed to really help with his confidence so it’s best he go to a home with another confident, stable, sweet dog who can help Joey build his OWN confidence from, and who can show him the ropes.. Not sure how he is around cats, but on our walks when he sees one he’s not interested. When going outside he loves doing his rounds and makes sure to alert us if he hears anything. He is super sweet and loves to put his paws right on me for pets and cuddles!
UPDATE 2-27 on Joey from his foster family "He’s settling in nicely after just about a week with his foster family. His favorite thing to do is to pull all of his toys out and try and pick apart the soft toys. He doesn’t chew on anything he’s not supposed to, has had no accidents in the house, and walks well on a leash. His personality is starting to come out and he is so sweet, someone out there will be lucky to have him"!
'Joey' needs a loving, calm and most importantly, a patient home where someone is home more often than not, and who can spend time with him to help him build trust.
Interested applicants should expect Joey to be big, and you should be prepared for that sweet and independent Great Pyrenees personality… to know the Great Pyr breed is to love them, but they are not Goldens, and we suggest you do some research on this beautiful breed before applying! He will need a secure above ground fenced yard as Great Pyrs love to be in their yard to protect and patrol, and this happens best when they are in a secure space!
Can you help this sweet, shy boy learn how to become a confident, happy dog? If interested in meeting Joey, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Hi, I'm Jonny! I'm a small (30 lbs.), very cute 2+ year old Goldendoodle. I came to GRRAND in March after an Amish breeder didn't want me anymore and had sent me to be euthanized. Thank goodness the vet realized I was a good boy and called GRRAND to come get me! Check out the group pic of me (on the left) with my BFF's Faith and Ivy!!!
I've definitely had a rough start in life, but I'm so thankful GRRAND has taken me in, and they are so patient working with me. Slowly but surely, I'm learning to trust a few people.
I have been in a foster home, but they couldn't keep me because of travel commitments. I did make progress and even jumped up on the bed once! I love, love, love other dogs and have zero aggression tendencies. I share my kennel space with three other dogs from Amish breeders, and we get along great.
I'm a good jumper, so I can jump right over a 4-foot fence when left alone without another dog in the yard. The kennel team thinks I could even climb a 6-foot fence if I was scared enough! Because of this, I'll need a home with a good fence AND another confident, stable, friendly dog. I might also not be the best match for younger children.
I know I'm safe and loved at GRRAND kennel, but I sure would like to have a home to call my own. I realize I'm a challenge because of the mental scars from my past, but I hope there's a patient, loving person out there who will give me a chance!
From the GRRAND kennel staff: 2 year old Jonny, one of the dogs rescued from the puppy mill earlier this year when they were dumped at a vet to be euthanized because an Amish puppy mill was facing an inspection. (PLEASE remind your friends: do not buy puppies from Amish counties, pet stores, or online!) EXCITING NEWS as Jonny has come a long way since early May when he went to live with his foster. He was terrified of every movement, sound, or touch, only finding comfort with the other Amish dogs. Stressors made him tremble and urinate. Since arriving at his foster home, he has begun to trust humans.
Jonny now enjoys being the center of attention but is still reluctant to seek it, although when the other dogs are getting pets he slinks right into the mix like no one notices him. Trust is his issue. He remains fearful of strangers, slow to warm up.
Jonny likes going for short walks and is good on the leash but doesn't understand cars, bikes and groups of people yet.
He is beginning to eat in the presence of humans and near the other dogs but still retreats if anyone or thing comes near. He has shown zero aggression. He has spent extended time with a boisterous 5 yr old grandson and seems to enjoy small people (they are more trustworthy), whining for more when the kiddo goes inside, however, Johnny has never lived with young children and GRRAND will not place him in a home with kids under 6 as there is no history of him with kids. Jonny has been non-reactive with a cat, allowing it to rub under his chin.
Jonny remains a flight risk; so he will need an above ground secure fenced yard, he knows his name and responds with acknowledgment and a short advance, but he still doesn't come, so at his foster home he still wears a short leash, just in case. He definitely knows how to play keep away!
Jonny is beginning to show evidence of joy and happiness, with his head held high, tail and ears up, his bouncy run and the zoomies. He is learning to chew on bones but still ignores stuffies.
This little guy was so thin, matted (he had to be shaved) and fearful of everything when he arrived. His fur is growing back, he has put on weight, and he is beginning to trust and be happy. Instead of cowering in fear, he follows foster mom everywhere.
Jonny is a sharp little guy who is really ready for a family that will love him. He's come a long way and still has lots to learn and trust to develop but he's ready to establish that bond with that forever family. He is on his way to being a great companion.
If you want to show Jonny how great a forever family is, please fill out an app:

Kitty is one of Winter's 10 puppies born Jan 22! They are – the Pride and Prejudice litter!
We know that these puppie's momma Winter, is a Great Pyrenees, but we do not have any idea what the daddy's breed is, as there were multiple breeds rescued and roaming this property. When they are ready to go to their forever families, Winter's puppies will be looking for a home that abides by the GRRAND puppy guidelines:

Applicants should also expect Winter's puppies to possibly be big, and you should be prepared for that sweet and independent Great Pyrenees personality… to know the Great Pyr breed is to love them, but they are not Goldens, and we suggest you do some research on this beautiful breed before applying! He will need a secure above ground fenced yard as Great Pyrs love to be in their yard to protect and patrol, and this happens best when they are in a secure space!

Lincoln is a 4 year old, 80ish lb, extremely sweet, gentle and handsome Golden/Black Lab mix looking for his new forever family at no fault of his own. His family says:
"I adopted Lincoln when he was just a 6 week old puppy from a family who was eager to get rid of him. At the time I was a single young adult with ample time on my hands to take him on long walks, to the park, and other fun activities. Over the course of the last two years I have gotten married and welcomed our first daughter into the family. With all of these changes Lincoln has not been given the attention he so desperately needs for a dog of his temperment and size. I have little time to take him on long walks and it has become clear that he deserves so much more than I have been able to give him the last year. Lincoln has a semi-sensitive stomach. He can tolerate treats, small quantities of human food like peanut butter and table scraps of lean meats, however, he has been on the royal canine sensitive stomach food since he was 6 months old.
When he was a small puppy Lincoln got into a bush with a bunch of burs and it ended up being a traumatic experience for him getting those out of his thick fur, and I think this caused him to develop his fear for being groomed. This big boy, is the sweetest guy, but dislikes to be brushed in a BIG WAY!
He is trustworthy in the house and is not crated… he is always loose downstairs (doesn't go upstairs) and he leaves the baby toys alone.
He loves to play fetch, tug of war, and have his belly rubbed. He is a huge snuggler, and given his size he makes a REALLY good one"!
Lincoln is said to be good with cats, but GRRAND has not cat tested him.
If you would like to meet this handsome guy, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Lippy is a 1 year old Bernadoodle at about 60lbs who was surrendered with Loopy because they were eating the neighbors chickens. We are still learning about them, but we know they are high energy and will need a family with time and patience to work with them, as they have not had much direction in the past.
We are told "Lippy is sweet, but very nervous of people and she follows Loopy around".
We will update as we learn more…

Luke is a 6 month old Golden-Mix puppy that was surrendered to GRRAND by a breeder. He is currently in a foster home so we are still learning about him, but we do know he needs to go to a home with another dog that can help him build his confidence and show him the ropes. She also says "He seems to be settling in quick so I’m sure he’ll be easily adaptable to a new home. From the short time he’s been here he seems pretty house trained and crate trained (no accidents and goes in the kennel and settles without a fuss). Just a few things to note… I’d say he’s probably 35-40 lbs. He has most If not all of his big boy teeth already. Luke really enjoys playing fetch with a ball and he’ll bring it right back to you and either drop it or let you take it from his mouth. He is very laid back and calm but has bouts of puppy energy. He walks relatively easy on a leash with a martingale collar especially considering he never was really leash trained and doesn’t pull at all. He loves attention and pets. Training wise he is mastering in only 1 day, sitting for treats and will work on that every day going forward, and he does understand what no means, if he does something he’s not supposed to and he’s told no, he stops, like picking up a shoe or digging at the rug. He’s super happy and laid back and would make a great addition to any family"! He is also looking for a home that abides by the GRRAND puppy guidelines:

This adorable Goldendoodle is 2 year old, 80lb Lion, and he is looking for a full-time home where he can put down some roots. His temporary fosters think Lion’s the greatest, but he stresses HARD when he has to spend time in the kennel. Can you help him while we help find his people?
Lion is currently working with a trainer to work through some stranger danger and wanting to guard his people. Because of this, he’ll need a home with no young kids.
Now for the positives:
Sweet, affectionate and silly pup. Wants to be your best friend and always by your side or in your arms
House-trained, no messes when left alone, loves car rides, playing in water, and eating veggies and fruits.
Good on leash, knows sit and stay, very trainable
Loves mud, getting in bathtubs and running showers (!), wants to always be with his “person”
Very eager to protect and please
Loves to play catch with his toys
Good with people and dogs
Needs time and love
Lion would love someone who is willing to bring him with them on their daily adventures and who can give a lot of love but knows how to set boundaries. He loves running in the dog park and will find any water to play in!
We don’t know about cats but, he has ignored them while on walks
As we learn more about Luscious, we will update, but if you would like to meet this boy, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Lydia is a 3-4 year old, 50ish lb beautiful Golden who had some health issues she has overcome and is waiting for her forever famiy!!!
Lydia was found beside of a country road, having a seizure. Now she's stable /seizure-free on daily generic med, loves the yard, loves to snuggle, loves deli meats, is on the lazy side walking – we are working to wake up her inner athlete!
Her foster mom says: "Lydia is doing well on walks. Goes at a leisurely pace. I’m using the martingale collar. No chewing on the leash. Occasionally she comes to an halt and requires some coaxing to get moving again. Likes running and playing around the yard. Settles down easily after some attention. She is a very low energy dog and is completely house trained. She is very food focused. Hopefully that will decrease once she’s no longer on a diet. She is not currently living with a dog or cat. We enticed her with a treat to get in the car, and she did great and is proving to be a great car rider!
Lydia does not play w/toys but will show interest in a yummy peanut butter kong! She has shown no signs of food aggression. Lydia responds to verbal correction and is very, very gentle when receiving treats from foster’s hands. Lydia has shown no signs of “stranger danger”. When a couple of repairman came to foster’s house, Lydia had no anxiety; she was friendly and accepting of their attention. Lydia has not been tested with cats or kids yet, however, at this time, she is a very laid back dog with not much interest in play, so it is felt that a calm home with no small kids is best… maybe an older laid back couple to fit her personality, who is willing to walk Lydia, and is patient in socializing her would be a good fit and her petite size would certainly be an advantage for chill people looking for a lovely companion".
She learned to navigate to steps; she is comfortable in her own dog bed or crate and sleeps through the night, is housebroken and she has free reign of house at nighttime. She will let foster know if she needs to go out during the night by just coming up the foster's bed! When Lydia wants to go out during the day, she will either come to the foster OR go stand at the door. During the day, the house front door is open to a locked glass door; Lydia can see out and she really does not show much interest in the outside world. She is not a barker and she pays no attention to the dogs who live behind her foster mom's 6 foot privacy fence. When dogs bark at Lydia on a walk, she just ignores them.
She is crate trained; her foster mom will throw a couple of treats in the crate, Lydia goes in and lays down and has no anxiety when foster mom secures the door. NOTE: Lydia is ONLY left in crate when foster mom has to leave the house for short periods of time. Her leash skills are improving; foster mom is using a short leash to walk Lydia in the neighborhood. When on walks she sniffs and acts like a normal dog!
When Lydia wants love she comes to her foster mom for attention; Lydia will pull away if she is approached and she is not in the mood for "TLC".
It appears that Lydia has not been socialized before coming to GRRAND. The foster mom thinks she would do ok being placed with another dog, but would also need to be a laid back dog. Lydia has not been tested with cats or kids yet, however, at this time, a non-chaotic home with small kids is not for her anyway. She has shown no separation anxiety, no aggression, and is a very quiet dog who seldom barks.
Lydia is a very friendly and laid back dog, who would love to find her forever home! If you are interested in fostering or adopting her, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org and our screening team will reach out to you to get started with the process.

Thanks to our awesome foster parent volunteers for stepping up quickly allowing us to move them directly from the owner into foster homes immediately! Biscuit and Man-O are in the same foster home and they say: They are rambunctious little pups ready for their new home. They love wrestling around and chasing your feet.

Marley is a 2-3 yr old, 60ishlb Lab mix looking for his forever home!
Marley has been in a foster home for a bit now, and a few priority things: "Over the past months we have watched Marley slowly come out of his shell and watched him learn how to acclimate in a home. He is still overcoming some his fears/survival instincts developed from being a stray but he has grown into a very good goofy boy and is a real gem to have in your home. He must go to a home with another stable and confident dog, so they can help to show Marley the ropes, and help build his own confidence. He doesn't like to be alone in new places and definitely models his behavior/habits from the other dogs. Marley is a true pacifist and would not do well with any animal/kiddo who has a tendency to bully or be overly aggressive, he struggles to stand up for himself. He has never tired to assert his dominance and is perfectly fine being the "side kick" to the other dogs he is with.
He is also best suited for a home with older children and a more calm atmosphere, vs a home with small kids and lots of chaos around him.
He loves other dogs and is playful around them, but we are still working on building trust in humans. He must go to a house with another confident/stable dog to help him learn the ways of the world since he loves to follow what his foster brother/dog is doing. He is a very submissive boy and has shown zero aggression, but lacks socialization and and stability and will learn that from a social and stable doggie sibling. As he is very unsure of all things around him, he is considered a flight risk and must go to a home with an above ground secure fenced yard.
He is potty trained and crate trained. He does fantastic on leash and does not pull. His favorite play is fetch as he LOVES tennis balls! He is very food motivated, so it will be easy to train him once he opens up to you and gains your trust.
Marley's new family will need to have the time and patience to work with him, give him lots of reassurance and help build confidence in himself, and trust in humans. Other than that, he is the definition of a couch potato with a low to moderate energy level. Marley is a gentle old soul, he loves a good afternoon nap and couch surfing on a fuzzy blanket. He is a very low maintenance doggo. I don't think I have ever seen Marley act out/ misbehave / chew on anything other than his toys/bones. You can tell he just wants to fit in be unnoticed and be a good well behaved boy. He prefers to stay out of the spotlight and doesn't need constant attention preferring to sit close to you rather than next/ on you".
We have no information at this time about kids or cats.
Winning over the trust of a dog is one of the best feelings in the world. If you want to meet Marley and start building your bond, please fill out an adoption application:
GRRAND dogs are looking for homes in our current service area of Greater Louisville, Greater Lexington, and Greater Cincinnati and Dayton. We’re sorry we cannot make exceptions to this area.
My name is Maya which in other languages means “good mother”, “courage” and “from God”. All of those things describe me well. I am a Golden-Mix (Collie maybe?), about 18 months-2 years old, and I have had a very sad and hard life, but finally find myself in the loving care of GRRAND volunteers where I’m learning that I can trust people and don’t have to search the countryside for my next meal. People have put different pieces of my story together and have learned the following about me… I was a stray in the Lake Cumberland area last summer, traveling around finding anything that I could eat to survive. When fall came and not so many people were around the lake, I traveled toward the town of Russell Springs where I was observed for months, searching for food in parking lots, around schools, and from trash cans along the roads. I even found a colony of feral cats that were being fed behind a service station and was spotted picking up the whole bowls of food and running away with them so I could be sure not to lose any from eating in haste. About a month ago, people started posting on social media that they thought I might have had puppies because I was clearly full of milk. Little did they know at the time that I had found a vacant barn and climbed through a hole in the wall to find a safe, dry place to have my 8 puppies! After that, I became even more desperate to find food because I was not only eating for myself, but also for my babies. As I traveled the roads and fields and navigated traffic along busy intersections, people tried to catch me, but I was on a mission… to eat and then rush back to my beloved pups. A wonderful Rescue person named Rhonda learned about me and spent numerous hours at night searching for me. She spotted me one night in a K-Mart parking lot and decided to fill me with as much food as I could eat and then hopefully, follow me to where I had my puppies. I know I’m an amazingly smart girl, but that night, Rhonda was smarter than I am. I ate everything she gave me and quickly left to go and care for my babies. Rhonda followed me in the car for a mile and a half, along a busy highway, though traffic and out to my barn. When Rhonda asked the property owners if they had observed me, they said they had and agreed to open the barn for her. They could hear my puppies crying in an interior barn room on a dirt floor. Rhonda then set a trap outside for me, which I immediately went into. She was then able to gather my beautiful 8 puppies. The rescue people say they don’t understand how my puppies could be as healthy and strong as they are, but it just shows how hard I worked to keep them alive and well.
We are now in a wonderful GRRAND foster home where my puppies are starting to eat regular puppy food and I’m being given all the food I can eat. It took a little bit for me to realize that when night came, I didn’t need to rush out in search of food, because food was actually going to come to me, every day! I’m starting to relax a bit and learn to trust my foster moms, but I did demonstrate to them the first day I arrived, that I can jump right over a 4’ fence. I will need a secure above ground fenced yard, preferably 6’, and a family that will help me to continue to learn what its like to have a family and not be a stray, having to work hard every day just to survive. Clearly, I’m a very special, incredibly smart girl, but they say I’m also super sweet and loving. I’m going to make some lucky family such a devoted, grateful new family member. Will you be that special family for me? I promise not to disappoint you. They say that my story is like one of those documentaries people watch on television about resilience, tenacity, and determination. Just one more thing about me… As I’m adjusting to my foster home, folks have noted how extremely devoted I am to my puppies and how very much I love them. They separate me from the pups so I can eat or get a little alone time and as soon as they do, I jump over their gates so I can be next to my puppies again. We have been through a whole lot together and I’m deeply bonded to these special pups that I worked so hard to save. Some of the volunteers are even wondering if there could be a chance that a family might adopt me and one of my babies into a home together. That would make the perfect ending to my special story! Is there anyone out there that might consider both me and one of my puppies?? I am truly an amazing little dog and some lucky family will get a true gem if they adopt me!
Maya's foster mom says how extremely devoted Maya is to her puppies. Would be so perfect for her to be able to go to a forever home with one of them!!
If you would like to meet Maya (and maybe one of her babies too), please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
This sweet girl is a lover and is looking for a dog-savvy, adult only couple or single person to love her back! She will require a home with an above ground physical fenced yard!!!
GRRAND will work with her adoptive home to help transition her.
Millie would love an active person who will take her to doggie daycare to get her energy out or good runs/walks. She would do fine as an only dog or with a stable, submissive dog, but no cats. She is also crate-trained.
Millie has a waited too long for her happy forever, and with just the right person, you can live a happy great life together! Can you be the one she deserves?
Moose is a 4 year old, 53lb, high energy and active Golden boy looking for an active home with no small kids and no other dogs. He is in a foster home and they say: "We have had Moose now for a week and I can say he is a very sweet boy that constantly wants love and attention. Moose has some resource guarding/reactive tendencies but we are now working with a trainer to help with these issues, thanks to GRRAND! The trainer is very confident Moose will do well and is a very adoptable dog! Moose LOVES to go swimming, hiking, playing fetch at the dog park, going to doggy daycare to hang with his “calm” group of friends, walking and snuggling on the couch. Moose is on some medications that we are going to continue to help with his anxiety until he settles into his forever home. Once we work through some of Moose’s quirks I just know he is going to find the best home because is he such a great dog. He is so good in the car, loves to go on walks, and wants to make friends with everyone at the vet office"!
Moose has some resource guarding tendencies and his former family that had to make the hard decision to rehome him say they had worries that when their baby grew up, Moose would not "share" very kindly They also say:
"He is high energy, loves walking, swimming, and playing with tennis balls. He loves people and cuddling up on the couch. He loves to greet everyone by retrieving something for them. Sometimes he will ever carry his toys on walks. He is not left home alone out of his crate or to roam unsurprised as this could lead to him eating (and injesting) something he shouldn’t. He does well being along in his crate. He has been to boarding many times and has done great. He had one incident and the boarding place has welcomed him back but they won’t give him the Jolly Ball anymore."
Moose is crate trained and knows a few commands such as walk (follow by your side while walking), sit, lay down, head down, spin, stay, place/break (place to stay in a spot, then break to release), roll over, show me your belly, achoo (fun trick learned during COVID), shake, high-five, beg, go to bed (his crate), ring your bell (he will ring the bell left by the door to show he wants to go outside), and out (drop it). He will do most of these when commanded but he is very food motivated so he is much more responsive to any commands when there is a treat involved. He is an adventurous guy and needs an adventurous family to help keep him busy and give him plenty of energy outlets.
If you would like to meet him, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Moose Tracks is one of the Ice Cream Social bunch who was rescued with their momma (Maya) who was wandering around to find food for herself so she could take care of her puppies. He is a chunky guy, so it looks like she has been good to her puppies! We estimate these puppies are about 1 month old (as of 4-28) and Golden Mixes and they are looking for homes that abide by the GRRAND puppy guidelines:

Nash is a young doodle needing a certain kind of home… Please read about his needs before applying!!
Nash:
Nash is a 4.5 year old beautiful Golden/Doodle. He is house trained, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash. Before he came to GRRAND he was attacked by a large dog which has caused him to be selective on what other dogs he likes. Nash enjoys chasing a ball and we recently introduced him to the pool where he paddles, but hasn't actually swam yet – we're working on that.
Nash needs a home with mature, dog savvy adults, no children. He can be dog selective, so no other animals.
Please consider giving Nash a second chance and a loving home.
More information to follow on Nash.

Peanut is a senior 9ish year old, Lab/Golden mix at about 75ish lbs who was literally "left with the house" when his so-called people, sold their house… they just abandoned him. He went to a shelter for 2 months and they said that he was exceptionally friendly, loves other dogs and passed the cat test with flying colors. (GRRAND has not cat tested him) We are so happy that Peanut went to a foster home and this is what they say:
Hi, I’m Peanut! Though I’m more like a Brazil nut! (haha doggie humor!) 'cause I’m a big boy but a good one! I love to eat…but treats…I don’t like them, I LOVE them! When I was at the shelter, I was that dog sitting in the corner of my kennel waiting to be noticed. All the other dogs were barking “PICK ME! PICK ME! and they were picked – over me. (sigh) Just because my muzzle may be a bit gray, or my eyes not as bright or my gait not as gingerly, I got passed over again and again. And then, I got SO LUCKY and someone took me into their home from the GRRAND rescue.
Now in my foster home, I go readily into my big kennel. Then when it’s time to go outside, I like to run around the yard and then lay down on my doggie bed under the deck.
When inside I will nudge you to be petted, take treats easy from your hand, sit on command, and go lay down when it’s time to. I am learning “Wait” and “Stay.” And I know that “No” means “No”!
I walk easy on a leash and love to ride in the car and put my muzzle out the back window.
When I am at home and not sleeping, my eyes and ears are attentive to what my foster mom is doing, hoping she will include me. I look forward to having a loving furever family and I will be their buddy and they will be my whole world!
Find me on GRRAND’s website – again hoping that someone will PICK ME! PICK ME"!
If you would like to meet Peanut, and give this deserving boy a loving home forever, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org

Merry Christmas from our "Twelfth Day of Christmas Dog"… Penny!
I'm Penny and am very pleased to meet you! I'm a beautiful pure Golden Retriever, 3+ years old. I came to GRRAND in early 2022, so I have been in the kennel for a while.
I can be a bit grouchy if you try and take one of my prize possessions away from me, usually a stick, but my close kennel buddies know to trick me with a treat for my stick! It works out beautifully, and don't tell them, but honestly, I get the better deal . Oh, and they said if anyone wanted to take me home they would teach them the same trick!
I do love it at the kennel! I get love, two meals a day, and have a warm bed of my own in my 6' x 6' cozy kennel run. I even have a glass door to look out of; Tyg and Adam are across the way so we have nice conversations when the kennel team isn't around. I get to go outside with my favorite people at least three times a day. We play in the yard, go for walks, and sometimes go on field trips to the park and Starbucks. I love going to the pool in the summer, but my favorite is office time where I get to be petted and do stimulation games (and earn treats)!
But my kennel guy seems sad these days; He says I'm getting 'institutionalized' at the kennel. I don't mind being in my cozy kennel run 20 hours a day, but he says I deserve better, like a home with people who love me and who will spend time with me. We have a radio at the kennel (Christmas carols playing now), but he says I should be able to watch Hallmark movies and Animal Planet on TV, whatever that is!! I think I'm his favorite, but don't tell Tyg!
So just to make him happy I guess I'm ready to go home with a great person or couple this Christmas. I have been at the kennel for almost 600 days so going to a loving home would be an amazing Christmas gift.
I realize I'm not 'Buddy The Elf' but the wonderful team at GRRAND love me (and I them) and they are committed to finding the right home for me and giving the family the right tools and education to make my adoption a success.
Please consider fostering or adopting me in the very near future.
Merry Christmas, Love Penny XOXO
Penny is an absolutely beautiful 3 year old Golden Retriever who needs a very specific home! Please read all about her needs before applying!
Penny is happy, tail wagging, and if she knows you, extremely friendly! After coming to GRRAND, we learned she had resource guarding tendencies, and she spent time with our excellent trainers and behaviourists to evaluate her needs.
What we have learned is that Penny does resource guard certain items, and she can be sensitive around her head.
Our kennel manager has spent a lot of time with Penny, and they have a close bond. He reports that Penny takes awhile to be comfortable and trust a person, but when she does trust you, she's an awesome dog who is very loyal and loving. We have a small team who handle her daily, and she loves to play and run outside, go for walks, do mental stimulation games (she is very smart!), and hang out in the office with her person.
Penny needs the right home with a dog-savvy family who understands how dogs communicate. She will give a warning (ex. growl) if something is going on she doesn't like. This is Penny’s way of telling us she wants us to stop doing something, which is great!
Her home must have no children or other animals, either in the home or visiting (e.g., grandchildren who come over). We would do a slow introduction period with several visits to the kennel and to her potential home to help build a bond, along with resource guarding training so we are sure the adopter/foster knows Penny's triggers and how to deal with them. And, as a young Golden, Penny will need plenty of high-quality exercise.
If you are looking for a dog to take to family gatherings or breweries, Penny is not for you. But if you want to truly rescue a dog that just needs patience, understanding, love and training, Penny will reward you with an abundance of love and loyalty
If you think you could be a good fit for Penny, please submit an application so you can connect and learn more!

GRRAND dogs are looking for homes in Greater Louisville, Greater Lexington, and Greater Cincinnati and Dayton. We’re sorry we cannot make exceptions to this area
GRRAND has taken in a momma Great Pyr and her 12, now 12 week old puppies!!! OH MY!!!
GRRAND was contacted by a shelter that feared bringing Athena and her pups into their shelter, because they were going to have to euthanize them all upon intake due of lack of space!! It took a village, but they are all safe, bathed and in foster homes! They all apparently lived in a barn stall, never leaving it, and standing on a ton of feces, which they were covered in when they arrived. Some of the pups are terrified, having lived in the barn stall, with no socialization, all their lives and are going to need families with a lot of patience. After a rough start, Runey and Piper are in a foster home together, and we are happy to report they are doing great!
They are SO sweet and playful and LOVE attention!
Update August 28: "They now all run up to me and my husband when we go in the room!! This is so great! They lick my nose and they come over for pets and love and we all played tug of war"!
Here is their latest report on Piper as of Aug 21: "Piper is still the timid one, but she is doing better though. If I’m very slow she has krept up to me once for a pet. She wags her tail when i came in the room. Ideally if Runey and Piper get adopted separately, they MUST go to a home with another dog. Piper for sure and she needs a dog that she can learn the ropes from and gain confidence from. They light up when another dog is around and I really don’t think I would have gotten them out of their room if not for my dog Ivy. Piper is starting to gain confidence daily and gets along great with my other dogs".
Interested applicants should expect these puppies to be big, and you should be prepared for that sweet and independent Great Pyrenees personality… to know the Great Pyr breed is to love them, but they are not Goldens, and we suggest you do some research on this beautiful breed before applying! These puppies all will need a secure above ground fenced yard as Great Pyrs love to be in their yard to protect and patrol, and this happens best when they are in a secure space! Please note the GRRAND puppy guidelines:
Puppies are a lot of work, and if you are interested in a GRRAND puppy and have children, PLEASE SEE THE ADOPTION FAQs section of the website for more detailed info. GRRAND policies stipulate a few important things that may stop you from applying, and here are 2 big ones-

Poppy is a 2 year old, about 70lb Goldendoodle that is very bonded with Tulip, so they will be placed as a pair. They were rescued from an Amish breeder/puppy mill, that was going to have the dogs euthanized if they did not go to rescue. They were very fearful of people and have come so far with the GRRAND volunteers who have been working with them everyday! They have a list of things their prospective new people must have and must understand before applying:
They absolutely MUST go to a home with a securely above ground fenced yard
They are a bonded pair and will be placed together
Their new family must be an adult only household that commits 100% to giving these girls plenty of time and have plenty of patience, while they transition from the kennel to a home… this will be a HUGE adjustment for all
They need people who can help build their confidence as the girls learn to trust
They are looking for a special foster or forever home with a family experienced in the socialization needs of puppy mill dogs, and who are home more often than the average working people
They are such sweet, pretty and deserving girls who have yet to know what it is like to live the “GOOD LIFE” of a well loved and cared for pampered pooch who sleeps in a soft cozy bed and has people who love and adore them the way they should be! This is their time, and if you are that “special someone” who would like to give these girls their “GOOD LIFE”, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org to meet Poppy and Tulip

Update on Raven ( AKA Sassy Pants) a BEAUTIFUL 4 month old Great Pyr mix (My sister had a DNA test and it came back 98% Great Pyr and 2% German Shepherd)
"I am the last of my mom Leai's litter that was born on January 4, 2024 as all of my siblings have found their forever homes! I enjoy helping with household chores like sweeping and mopping as well surfing the internet when my foster mom lets me sit on her lap and look up dog toys on Amazon. I am SASSY with a capital "S". I might be a little small for my age and breed but don't let my size fool you as I am the boss of everyone! I have tons of energy and I am super affectionate and would love to fall asleep in your arms every night. I would be the perfect addition to any family that wants a love bug and a helper around the house. I am crate trained and sleep through the night and I am actively working with my foster mom on potty training and leash walking so I can be the BEST PUP EVER!
Her foster mom says "Don't let her smaller size fool you (she is the runt of the litter). She runs around knocking into her brothers and sisters and wrestling with them until she gets tired. Tons of energy! Super affectionate and in the morning demands to be held so she can fall back asleep in your arms. She is also very helpful during cleanup time when she sits on the mop while you try to clean. She'd be the perfect addition to any family that wants a love bug and a helper around the house".
Update on Raven from her foster mom at 8 weeks old on Tuesday and weighs in at just 7 lbs. She is SASSY with a capital "S". Don't let her smaller size fool (she is the runt of the litter). She runs around knocking into her brothers and sisters and wrestling with them until she gets tired. Tons of energy! She'd be the perfect addition to any family that wants a love bug and a helper around the house.
When they are ready to go to their forever families, Leia's puppies will be looking for a home that abides by the GRRAND puppy guidelines:

LOOK AT THIS CUTIE!!!
Rio is a 1 year old, 80ish lb Labradoodle who is being surrendered to GRRAND as his person felt he needed a home with more time to exercise and play with Rio than they could give to him. Rio was living in an apartment and it was NOT OK for him, so he needs a home that has a fenced in yard where he can romp and play, or a family that can give him the regular walks and exercise he needs to be a happy and content good boy. He was in a temporary foster home and they learned he can NOT be crated. Rio will need to have a home where he can have full run of the house.
We are told Rio is high energy, loves to play catch, loves squeaky toys, and is super friendly!!! Rio needs some training as he likes to jump when he is happy, but he is a good boy.
Please check back for more info but If you would like to meet Rio, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org

Roonie is a 10 month old, Great Pyr/Lab mix, who at this young age, (just a puppy herself) just gave birth to 7 puppies! (Nestle, Bunny, Wisteria, Candi, Hopper, Hunter and Peeps) Once her puppies get weaned, Roonie will be ready to find her forever home where she will be able to learn to be a "puppy" herself!
Roonie came to GRRAND and went straight to a foster home to deliver her puppies, so her foster mom is still learning about her, but she says "Roonie is a very sweet dog. She loves her puppies & takes very good care of them. Roonie follows me around, enjoys going out on the patio for some sun and is very laid back. She is also house broken".
She is going to update us as she learns more, but if you are interested in meeting Roonie, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Hi! I'm Ross. There's a lot of debate as to my DNA, but my kennel guy thinks I'm a Golden/Duck Toller/Collie mix! But I don't care – I'm adorable whatever I am – just look at my picture!!! I'm six-years-old and a GRRAND long-timer – 4 years!! But I'm happy, love to walk, play on our agility equipment, and entertain my kennel people with my zoomies! I'm now working with a trainer. I'm teaching him how to pet me all over without me getting agitated – he's doing well and says I can go home very soon! My kennel people love me and treat me so well that I'll hate to leave them, but 4 years in a kennel is a long time, and I'm really hoping someone will find it in their heart to take me home so I can snuggle and watch TV! Love Ross
Ross is a 6 year old, 50ish lb smart boy who loves to do zoomies in the yard and go for walks. He's very smart and can be trained quickly, though he does have a stubborn streak.
He's a beautiful mix, we believe Golden and small collie. He weighs 45 lbs, is completely house trained, and walks great on a leash.
Ross needs a home with mature, dog savvy adults, no children. He can be dog selective, so no other animals.
Please consider giving Ross a second chance and a loving home and if interested, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org

Sailor has discovered the wonderful world of the closet, filled with new "toys" and adventures. He loves to bring me my shoes whether I need them or not!!!!
If you are looking for the perfect First Mate, twelve-week-old Sailor is your pup. Sailor is one of eight golden doodles that came to GRRAND from a breeder in KY. Sailor is stereotypically a "Velco Golden" who likes to hang out in the home office, bedtime TV, roughhouse with his foster buddies, and play with the neighborhood children. Sailor has an easy-going, laid-back personality and is content to "just go with the flow." Dogs, children, adults, and cats are all welcome friends. This little guy sleeps through the night and responds well to basic training commands. Sailor is a people-pleaser through and through. Sailor is looking for a home that abides by the GRRAND puppy guidelines…

Shadow is a 5 year old, 60lb, female Retriever/Border Collie Mix who has been sadly displaced due to a family move. She is in a foster home and rthis is what they say:
"Shadow is a sweet, shy, and playful pup. She does well with kids and has been exposed to all ages from babies to teens – her foster family has a preschooler and a teenager. She is also great with her roommate, a 3-year-old, hyperactive, male goldendoodle, as well as other dogs in the neighborhood. She is potty trained and crate trained, rarely barks, loves to play fetch, and gladly accepts belly rubs as the “little spoon” if snuggled with in bed . She is very timid and can be anxious at times when her foster family isn't around – this is something her foster family is working on with her. Shadow is a wonderful and loving dog and any home would be lucky to have her"!
As we learn more, we will update, but for now, if you would like to meet Shadow, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Snow is a 2 year old, super sweet, soft, fluffy Great Pyrenees looking for his forever family! He came from a very sad situation as he and all of his property-mates, or siblings, we don't know which, were all tied/chained to trees… but he never has let that hinder is wonderful friendly temperament! It's unbelievable how forgiving and loving he is, after all he's been through.
Snow is looking for a home with a fenced in yard, as the Great Pyrenees breed love nothing more than to hang out in the yard, patrol a little here and there and watch the world go by. Great Pyrs and Goldens are not the same, and we suggest you do some research to find out their breed similiarities and differences before applying. If you are a Great Pyrenees lover, you will know their delightful stubborness is what makes them so fun and challenging just the same!! If you are not familiar with the breed, to know the Great Pyr is to LOVE the Great Pyr!
This guy is so deserving of a wonderful, loving home where he can get a big soft warm bed, and all of the TLC he can take! If YOU would like to be the one to open your home to Snow, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Strawberry Fields is one of the Ice Cream Social bunch who was rescued with their momma (Maya) who was wandering around to find food for herself so she could take care of her puppies. She is a chunky gal, so it looks like she has been good to her puppies! We estimate these puppies are about 1 month old (as of 4-28) and Golden Mixes and they are looking for homes that abide by the GRRAND puppy guidelines:
Puppies are a lot of work, and if you are interested in a GRRAND puppy and have children, PLEASE SEE THE ADOPTION FAQs section of the website for more detailed info. GRRAND policies stipulate a few important things that may stop you from applying, and here are 2 big ones-
A: GRRAND will NOT place a puppy under the age of 6 months with families with children under 6 yrs old
B: Any applicant with children under the age of 16, will require a home with direct access to a securely fenced yard… meaning direct access to the yard from the home… so this means no apartments or condos.

TJ is a beautiful 4 year old strong, high energy boy. He will do best in a home that can give him plenty of exercise. No children or other pets. An experienced dog person would be best to help manage his behaviors. Once TJ knows you, he will be your best friend.
please fill out an app at GRRAND.org if you would like to learn more about TJ.
Tucker is a 3 year old, 65lb Golden Retriever who is looking for a new home, where he can get lots of activity and direction from his new people!
We are told he is crate trained, house trained, and knows a few basic commands. He is brand new to GRRAND so we are still learning about him. We will update info on Tucker as we learn more, but if you would like to meet him, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
Merry Christmas from our "Eleventh Day of Christmas Dog"… Tygrys!
Nice to meet you! My name is Tygrys, but everyone calls me Tyg! According to my kennel guy's free app, I'm mostly Anatolian Shepherd and Belgian Malinois! I am a big, handsome boy; just look at my pictures and see for yourself. I get a lot of attention both at the kennel and on field days when my guy takes me to the park and then Starbucks for my weekly pup cup!
I came to GRRAND in 2019 as a cute little puppy and was quickly adopted by a sweet couple. Life was good, but my owners split up 4 yrs after taking me home and my mom went to live with a family member whose dogs didn’t like me so in June they drove me back to GRRAND from Wisconsin, so they could be sure nothing bad would happen to me.
My GRRAND people are learning about my breed mix; I'm definitely NOT a Golden Retriever. I love to work and to protect my family. I constantly patrol the kennel fence line to make sure all the other pups and kennel volunteers are safe. I will bark at strangers or dogs I don't know. I'm not crazy about UPS, Amazon, or any van for that matter. I'm happy to be outside, but of course, I also love being indoors with my person.
I'm extremely loyal. I love all my people at the kennel. I will try and squeeze my 105 lbs body on a chair with them for hugs and kisses. I let them dress me up and I never complain . I am very well trained and walk great on a leash (until that pesky UPS van goes by). I know a lot of commands and like showing off my skills. In the summer I loved my daily swim in the GRRAND pool!
I tolerate most dogs and I'm buddies with Ross, who you would have met on Day One, but I really don't like to share my people, so I can't be in a home with other dogs.
I'll let you into a secret; my kennel guy tells me that Penny (Day 12) and I are his favorites! I love him too, but it's time for me to leave the kennel.
Like I said earlier, I'm not a Golden Retriever, but I really hope this Christmas just the right family is out there looking for a big loveable, protective pup like me. GRRAND trainers have promised me that they will educate the right family on how to handle a breed like mine.
Merry Christmas, Love Tyg XOXO
Tygrys is a 4 year old, 100lb, Great Pyrenees-Anatolian Shep mix. This handsome guy was adopted from GRRAND when he was saved from a kill shelter at 3 months old, and his family has had some life changes that have sadly resulted in them making the hard decision to turn him back into GRRAND.
We are told by his current owner's, that he is a sweet boy, is house-trained and seems to have the Guardian Dog protecting the house tendencies, as at night he likes to roam from room to room to keep watch and make sure everything is ok. They say he gets along with other dogs, but has had some issues with some other dogs he used to live with who didn't accept him in the pack so he is seemingly dog selective. He was out in the play yard with Cookie and Noelle at the kennel and they all had a good time together!
He is new to a foster home and his foster parents used a few adjectives: "loyal, sweet, attentive, protector, wants to please, has serious side of his personality but does relax". They are also doing all they can to get him out to socialize and walk him, and we will update as they tell us more!
This is what the kennel staff says about Tig "We love him at the kennel! He has been well-trained and walks perfectly. He loves to lay out in the play yard, watch over the kennel, and play in the pool. When he comes into the office he will curl up in one of the beds and rest; you don't even know he's there. The kennel manager has taken him on field trips to the park and a brewery, and reported that he's perfect! He is so handsome and gets a lot of attention, which he laps up! He was out in the play yard with Cookie and Noelle and they all had a good time together!
Tig does need a yard to play in and we've learned that once he gets to know his person he will protect them, even against other dogs, so even though he can be around other dogs outside, he needs to be the only dog in the home".
If you would like to meet this cool guy, please fill out an application at GRRAND.org
Vance is a Golden/Pyrenees mix and he is just a beautiful boy who desperately needs a dog-savvy and experienced foster home!!
He will curl up on your lap and jump on your bed if you let him😊. He loves 'his people', which right now is the kennel staff and volunteers.
You won't have to worry about squirrels or chipmunks in your yard as he'll chase them off for sure!
He definitely needs a dog experienced, adult household, with no kids under 18, and an above ground fenced yard (no apartments or condo type home). Vance is not a real social dog as he likes to be at home with his people!
Can anyone take this sweet boy out of the kennel? Any family who is interested in Vance, and has been approved to meet him, MUST still be approved by his trainer.
He likes smaller dogs but he is not wild about larger dogs and no cats. This sweet boy likes walks around the park and walks fine on leash. While he was out and about at the kennel, he wanted lots of loving in the office!!! And… Vance Loves fetching toys!
We are still learning about this cutie, but if you would like to meet him and get him out of the kennel, please contact GRRAND ASAP!

Wickham is one of Winter's 10 puppies born Jan 22!

We will update as we learn more about these cuties, but if you are interested in meeting them, they are in a foster home waiting for you! Please fill out an application at GRRAND.org
THIS BEAUTIFUL face… and as you can see, she is a good foster momma to puppies!!!
Willow is approximately 1 year old (give or take a month or 2), 80lb female (still room for growth) Great Pyrenees looking for a home at no fault of her own. She was rescued from the side of a country road by a couple who has had some unfortunate health issues which have made them unable to care for Willow. Here is an update from her foster mom on 1-19 "Willow is the sweetest dog on the planet. She puts up with Spud who has a higher energy level than she her, with absolutely no corrections, no temper, just calm playfulness. Someone really needs to adopt this girl. She is fine with a 4' fence and would probably prefer a canine companion but I think would be fine with an attentive family or person. She is just so lovable and deserves a very lovable home".
She also says "Ok, everyone!!! Willow needs a furever home. She is as perfect a Pyr as I have ever fostered. She has that calm temperament of a Pyr, is good on a leash, loves all people and dogs. Is good with cats. Not kid tested, but I expect her to be fine with them after seeing her put up with little Spud’s shenanigans. She loves playing with other dogs. And she is absolutely gorgeous. She is good in a 4’ fence. Has shown no interest in scaling my gates. What is not to like about her? Why hasn’t she been adopted?!?! Her only faults are:
1. she is not used to a car and will whine when she is in one. This will pass with more trips to fun places.
2. She is still a puppy and needs containing while you are gone so she doesn’t find inappropriate things to chew on. This will of course, pass with time"
Willow is looking for a home with a fenced in yard, as the Great Pyrenees breed love nothing more than to hang out in the yard, patrol a little here and there and watch the world go by. If you are a Great Pyrenees lover, you will know their delightful stubborness is what makes them so fun and challenging just the same!! If you are not familiar with the breed, we suggest you do some research on the breed before applying as to know the Great Pyr is to love the Great Pyr!
Willow has a very gentle nature and had gone to a temporary foster home for the holidays that has another Great Pyr and a couple cats too! And geeze… she has really proven to be "quite the Gem"! Here are a few things they say about Willow: "Took Willow to run errands and walk through Lowe’s. She got a lot of pets and even walked up to someone sitting at a desk, put her muzzle under his elbow and flipped his arm up demanding pets and he was happy to do so"!
"This sweet and super happy girl may be one of the EASIEST fosters we have ever had! She is smart, loves life and attention and wants to please! We are just starting to see her playful personality come out and it is very fun to watch evolve. Willow will thrive with someone who can be home with her more than not, and has the time to shower her with TLC! She is food motivated, which makes her an easy dog to train as she is already learning some of the basic commands, and we are continuing to evaluate her attitude towards our cats. Today our cat was sleeping in the chair and Willow walked over and gently sniffed and walked away! We are strongly monitoring, but looking good so far, and will keep updating!
We have a six foot privacy fence and Willow does not go potty on walks, so as stated previously, a fenced in yard is very important for her. With that, she absolutely loves her daily walks, (usually twice plus yard playtime) so she is needing an active family that can take her out for daily socialization, exercise and stimulation! On walks she is friendly when approached by neighbors; her tail instantly wags and she loves a friendly pat. She is fit and healthy and she will truly blossom with someone who is affectionate towards her and can give her, the daily dose of exercise and direction she needs.
We have seen that she is very leery of cars; she was afraid to get in our car so we have been working on helping her become comfortable in the car and happy to report, that thanks to encouragement and treats we were able to get her in the car twice today for a ride and playtime! Willow is house-trained and is not afraid of loud noises including vacuum cleaners, tv sounds, kitchen and household noises, or power tools. She is a great companion who enjoys being petted BUT she also will lay on a dog bed or curl up at our feet.
Willow is still a young pup, she is needing the proper direction and supervision to keep her out of trouble at home, and to learn the boundaries of what is for dogs, and what is NOT for dogs! When we are not interacting with her, Willow enjoys chewing on a strong nylabone or a rubber toy filled with yummy treats. We have loved having Willow as our foster pup as she is a gentle soul that needs a loving home".
Please check back later for more info on Willow, but if you would like to meet this pretty girl, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
