Your Center for Advanced Materials Development

The Herty Advanced Materials Development Center is an applied research center of Georgia Southern University, with focuses in contract research, development, and manufacturing; and a global leader in technology development and works with leading national and international companies to accelerate their new product and process development. The Center tests and validates new process and product concepts for industries in a variety of key market sectors including: pulp and paper, chemicals, non-woven materials, and the emerging biomass-to-energy industry. With a proven reputation for its contract manufacturing capabilities, the Herty Center also partners with clients to demonstrate new ideas, develop novel products and reduce risk during the commercialization of new technologies.

In service to the University, our clients, and the community, Herty AMDC will continue to encourage collaborative and interdisciplinary research efforts to bring together education, research, and industry in ways that will benefit the community, enhance the economy of the State of Georgia, and support state-wide efforts in economic development and job creation.
