Fran Scheidt
It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of long time member Fran Scheidt from Knoxville, TN. Fran was an active member with the HSA for over 25 years and attended many of our Annual Meetings.

Fran served for years as editor of the Journal of the Holly Society of America and received the society’s President’s Award and the prestigious Wolf-Fenton Award. She introduced three Holly cultivars, ‘Frantastic,’ ‘Volunteer Orange’ and ‘Fran’s Jade,’ all of which are part of the Elmore Holly Collection at the UT Arboretum. She was an active member of the East Tennessee Hosta Society.

Her presence and knowledge will be missed by many.
