If someone under your care were to encounter problems or a situation which could lead them to lose control emotionally or become physically violent, Would you try to intervene? Talk to the person? Call the authorities? A wrong decision could result in program disruption, injury, increased liability, or even death.

JIREH Consulting and Training provides training to Human Service providers in how to safely and effectively prevent and manage aggressive, self destructive, or disruptive behavior. Participants will gain the confidence to bring under control virtually any potentially threatening episode. Emphasis is placed on prevention and de-escalation while maintaining safety and security. The Jireh techniques allow for the client to safely calm down and regain control while at the same time allowing for the preservation of the client's and staff's dignity.

The training teaches Prevention, Intervention, De-escalation, Restoration, and Safe Control Techniques for handling Crisis situations that staff may come into contact with on a daily basis. Participants learn Safe "least restrictive" interventions and restraint techniques which are proven to be effective, and humane.

CRISIS PREVENTION:
JIREH training distinguishes itself by showing you how to actually PREVENT Crisis Situations from occuring. By looking at the Root Causes of Conflicts, practitioners will learn Five Steps to Reach Troubled Youth. These prevention principles emphasize and provide resolutions to the causes of personal conflicts which may arise with clients or staff. Participants learn to recognize and assess conflicts, then restore and build the individual, thereby preventing future crisis situations. This reduces the potential for staff responding inappropriately to others and decreases the risk of abuse and potential liability.

CRISIS INTERVENTION AND DE-ESCALATION:
Jireh strategies teach how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a potential crisis and safely intervene and de-escalate the situation before it gets out of control. The training emphasizes nonverbal and verbal techniques to diffuse aggressive or disruptive behavior. Skills are taught which allow staff a range of choices to diffuse any type of situation.

SAFE "LEAST RESTRICTIVE" CONTROL TECHNIQUES:
We do not encourage physical restraint, however potentially harmful situations cannot always be prevented. If these situations occur, the Jireh training will provide you with several "Safe" techniques to bring the situation under control using the least restrictive means necessary. . These techniques allow for both Individual and Team approaches to be utilized with equal effectiveness. Use of these techniques has many potential benefits. They are safe, easy to apply, and they bring the situation under control quickly without risking potential harm to staff and clients.

Jireh Training distinguishes itself because the techniques taught are never difficult to implement, nor do they involve clumsy moves or awkward body positions. They are smooth, easy to apply and readily accepted by the training participants.

RESTORATION COUNSELING:
The goal in each of the training components is to restore the individual to a healthy, successful life. The individual who has acted out needs to be restored back into their program and relationships. Emphasis is placed on Tension Reduction and re-establishing relationships damaged as a result of the crisis situation . Practitioners learn therapeutic skills and methods of improving the clients ability to assess and resolve their own conflicts.
