We are volunteers

Working together as part of a Christian charity, to improve health care and training in Nigeria. The project was launched in 1992 in order to revive the links between the Wesley Guild UK and medical mission in Nigeria, which started at Ilesa Hospital, Osun State in 1912.

Supporters

Partnership

We have kept our links with the Wesley Guild but now have a wider range of supporters, including many British Nigerians. We work in partnership with colleagues in Nigeria, mainly with Methodist Church Nigeria.

Association of Friends

NHCP has an Association of Friends who give money regularly to ensure that salaries of essential staff in Nigeria continue to be paid. One of the people we support is Elizabeth, the Matron at Bethesda Hospital, Ikachi, Oju, Benue State. Here she is training others about the management of bleeding at birth. We currently have 90 members of the Association of Friends. If you are interested in becoming a Friend please contact Jenny Benfield: Tel: 01284 702157 E-mail: benfield@freebie.net

NHCP Partners

We are gradually increasing the number of trustees and trainers from the British Nigerian community. Many other people are interested in helping in our work but are not able to become closely involved as NHCP trustees. For many years we have had a successful Association of Friends for those who wish to donate regularly to our work. Three of our trustees – Fis, Jide and Obi are taking the lead on developing NHCP Partners. If you would like to be associated with our work in some way as an NHCP Partner please contact David Cundall, Coordinator: Email: nhcp@btinternet.com in the first instance (tel 07989194726 or 0113 2938351)

NHCP is committed to the development of excellent health care education to promote global health improvements.

We aim to work effectively with our partners in Nigeria to encourage shared learning opportunities for health care workers in Nigeria and the UK.
