About 900 people attended the 43rd Annual Oklahoma Engineering Fair including students, teachers and volunteers. Thank you, everyone, for coming out and making a great day to be a future engineer!

STEM Education Mission

The Oklahoma Engineering Foundation was the first Oklahoma STEM education nonprofit. Established in 1976, we are engineers, educators and industry and community partners. Our mission is to further STEM education in Oklahoma and increase the number of engineering professionals living and working in the state.

ENGINEERING FAIR

The OEF Oklahoma Engineering Fair is held every spring during Engineers Week and brings together students, teachers, professors, and the business community to give students an introduction to engineering and related principles.

MATHCOUNTS

Since 1983, the Oklahoma Engineering Foundation has hosted the Oklahoma MATHCOUNTS program. Pooling resources from engineering and STEM-minded industries, OEF has engaged thousands of students in this upper-level middle school math competition. 

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Oklahoma Engineering Foundation
awards up to four $2,000 collegiate scholarships for students pursuing a degree in an accredited engineering curriculum in Oklahoma.

OEF is grateful to have exceptional and STEM professionals leading Oklahoma’s five MATHCOUNTS chapters across the state. Co-coordinators are Diana Bittle, Chief Information Officer, American Fidelity, Oklahoma City, and Gaylon Pinc, P.E., Project Management Group, LLC, Tulsa. Coaches are Dr. Harold Brooks, Senior Scientist, Forecast Research and Development Division, National Severe Storms Laboratory, Norman, Oklahoma, and Melissa Hunt, Math Teacher, Norman Public Schools.

OEF College Scholarship

The Oklahoma Engineering Foundation has awarded more than $350,000 in scholarship monies to Oklahoma students since 1975. Up to four $2,000 collegiate scholarships are awarded annually to students in an accredited engineering curriculum at one of six Oklahoma universities.

2024 Bridge Competition

Foreword

Each school MUST preregister by February 16, 2024, or five days prior to the date of the Engineering Fair. Visit oef.org for registration information. Upon registration, the participants will receive an entry form via email, which must be completed and attached to their bridge. Prizes will be awarded to winning entries from registered schools.

FOREWARD
This number of entries per school is unlimited. Each entry is a team project, conducted by two students.
Each school MUST complete a Fair Registration by February 16, 2024 or five days prior to the Engineering Fair. Entry forms must be completed and handed in at time of competition check-in on the day of the Engineering Fair. Prizes will be awarded to winning entries from registered schools

2024 IEEE Electric Motor Contest Winners

FOREWORD
This contest is limited to five (5) entries per school. Each school MUST pre-register online. Visit oef.org/2023-fair-registration. Prizes will be awarded to winning entries from registered schools only. Entries from unregistered schools will NOT be eligible
for prizes.

OBJECTIVE
Prior to competition, design and build an electric motor-powered by a dry cell battery that rotates at the highest possible speed.

2024 Ping Pong Launcher Competition

FOREWARD
This contest is limited to five entries per school. Each school MUST pre-register one week (5 business days) prior to the date of the Engineering Fair by visiting  www.oef.org/2024-fair-registration. To expedite the check-in process, please complete the
contest entry form prior to arrival, also found on the OEF website. Prizes will be awarded to winning entries from registered schools. Entries from unregistered schools will NOT be eligible for prizes.

Design Statement and Objective

Prior to the competition, each team will design and build a launcher which can catapult ping-pong balls at targets (#10 Cans 6 inches in diameter x 7 inches tall) located 12 feet from the launcher table. Launcher must shoot only one ball at a time and should be re-loadable in order to launch as many balls as possible within a three-minute time frame.

2024 Wacky Wonder Works Competition

The Wacky Wonder Works (WWW) Competition uses modified Rube Goldberg machine contest rules to test student’s engineering skills. Please review the current rules below as some have
changed from past competitions.

This contest is limited to four (4) entries per school. Each entry is a team project; conducted by no more than six team members. An individual student may NOT participate on more than one team. Only one entry per team is allowable.
