Hello Friends:
Thank you for visiting us on the Web. I am pleased to be able to reach out to you in this form and format. We are Pennsylvanians for Human Life of Greater Harrisburg and we are affiliated with the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation and the National Right to Life Committee.
We are all volunteers and these efforts are our reward in and of itself. So one might ask us why? Why do we care and why would we freely give up our time to advance the issue of “Pro-Life”?
It is simple, really. The right to life, from conception to natural death, is the primary “right” that is due every human being. In the Declaration of Independence, our founders stated it this way:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,
that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
I would suggest that the “right to life” is the primary right upon which all other “rights” are built, for, without life, none of the other rights really matter … do they?
Life is precious. Despite all human science, all human knowledge, and all human discoveries and intelligence, HUMANS CANNOT CREATE LIFE. Sure, humans have figured out how to take human cells and have unlocked the mystery of human DNA. With this understanding, humans are able to “imitate” or “replicate” life. However, the reality is that there is no human ability to actually “create” life from something that is not already “life” – someone already produced by the “Creator”. Thus, we conclude that life is “someone” and that “someone” is supremely precious!
It is not our place or position to criticize any individuals who previously made an abortion or euthanasia decision; rather, we wish only to offer support to those who regret past decisions and to support those who must make that decision, now or in the future. LIFE…IS…PRECIOUS.
There are those who argue that it should only be a “woman’s right to choose”.
We suggest that there is a time to “choose” and that time for choosing is BEFORE there is a child in the womb, or BEFORE an elder is considered unneeded, unwanted, or “too much trouble”, and BEFORE they are deemed “no longer to have value to society”. LIFE…IS…PRECIOUS.
Friends, there are many links to resources found here and elsewhere on the Web that will provide information and opportunities to choose solutions other than abortion or euthanasia. We hope and pray that you will seek out those resources before making any final decision on a solution that disregards the absolute value of life. PLEASE take time to consider all options. PLEASE take time to make an informed decision about the right to life. PLEASE take time to give advice to those who are in a difficult situation where they feel they must choose between life and death. Life is beautiful, death is not. To those who argue for the right to “choose”, may I suggest the argument is really the decision between LIFE and DEATH. Choose LIFE!
We believe, and we will always remember, LIFE…IS…PRECIOUS. And THAT is why we volunteer and that is why you find us here on the Web. We pray that you, too, will come to the conclusion that LIFE…IS…PRECIOUS! Until you find the information and answers you are looking for, until your decision is made, know that we pray for you.
