Physics at CCSU

Located in Copernicus Hall, the facilities of the Physics program include numerous introductory and intermediate/advanced laboratories as well as two teaching laboratories, a 400-kv Van de Graaff linear accelerator, and an ion implanter.

In addition to teaching, our faculty pursue many areas of interest, including atomic collisions; particle physics; solid state physics; applied holography and general relativity.

Wherever possible, students enrolled in department programs are encouraged to join with the faculty in ongoing studies in these and other areas.

Qualified students majoring in physics may be eligible for NSF-funded scholarships through the Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics Scholarship Program, which will award at least 20 scholarships per year to CCSU students over the next four years.
