The Prairie Aikikai is an organization dedicated to the study and practice of the martial art of Aikido. We are located in Sycamore, Illinois. Jeffrey B. Hecht, Godan, is the Head Instructor and Leslie B. Hecht, Yondan, is the Assistant Instructor.
Our dojo (school) is a relaxed environment, comfortable to both new and old students. Here are some of the benefits our students enjoy:
It is extremely difficult to learn the art of Aikido using individualized instruction. It is also very easy to get lost or overlooked when you are part of a very large group. At the Prairie Aikikai dojo we only offer small group instruction in the martial art of Aikido, allowing students to get plenty of regular, one-on-one attention from the instructor(s). Class sizes are typically around 6 to 10 students, a friendly environment that allows for easy learning!Regularly scheduled practices several times each week
Special seminars with guest instructors
Open practices for guests and visitors
The Prairie Aikikai is a proud member of Aikido Shimbokukai (Lisa Tomoleoni, Director). Aikido Shimbokukai is an Officially Recognized Organization by the Aikido World Headquarters (Hombu Dojo) and the Aikikai Foundation in Tokyo, Japan |
