Red Oak Grove is a group of neopagan druids centered in the Delaware Valley area who are serious about worshiping the Welsh gods in a modern context. Founded in 1997, we are one of the oldest groves of Ár nDraíocht Féin / A Druid Fellowship (ADF.)

The Welsh version of our name is Nyfed Dar Goch, pronounced “NUH-ved dar GOCK”.

Our Beliefs

While we welcome a wide range of beliefs and gods, Red Oak Grove focuses primarily on Welsh and Irish gods and folklore. Our patron gods include Math ap Mathonwy, Rhiannon, Brigid, and Lleu Llaw Gyffes, and we weave the lessons of Celtic stories and the Mabinogion into our practice.

As ADF druids, we work with and give offering to other beings who we honor in three broad and at times blurred kinds of spirits: the Three Kindred. These include the spirits of nature, the honored dead, and the gods.

Our Events

Red Oak Grove hosts eight public high days every year to celebrate the turning of the seasons and honor our kindred. Our events are located throughout Southern New Jersey and in Philadelphia, and range in price between free picnic rituals and $55 weekend-long cabin events.

Hospitality Statement

Red Oak Grove’s vision of hospitality is that everyone, especially members of marginalized groups, should feel comfortable sitting around our fire. We are a feminist, anti-racist, and queer-affirming space.

To protect our members and our guests, and in accordance with our values, we have a no-tolerance policy of white supremacists, misogynists, antisemites, transphobes, or fascists at our events. Anyone sporting Nazi imagery, promoting intolerant talking points, connected to hate groups, or otherwise threatening the safety of our community will be banned from Red Oak Grove.

We oppose folkish views of Paganism, which state that one should only worship the gods of one’s genetic ancestors. Folkish groups such as the Asatru Folk Assembly are recognized by the Southern Poverty Law Center as hate groups. If you’d like to know more about ethical Heathenry, check out Heathens Against Hate.
