Wayne Rudson

Wayne Rudson,
CA, IFA/CBV, ASA, CFE, CFF

Wayne Rudson is the President of RVG and has personally been involved in business valuation, litigation support and forensic accounting since 1984. During this time, he has valued over $1 billion worth of assets and authored over 500 valuation reports, including valuations required pursuant to OSC Policy Statement 9.1. Wayne has also been involved in well over 200 breach of contract matters with damages ranging from nil to $150 million.

Wayne has given expert testimony before the Supreme Court of Ontario, the Ontario Court (General Division), the Federal Court of Canada, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Court of Appeal for British Columbia, The Court of Queen's Bench of New Brunswick and other tribunals as an expert witness in business valuation and damage quantification matters over 40 times.

Jaclyn Sud

Jaclyn Sud,
CPA, CA, CBV

Jaclyn is a senior associate at RVG. Jaclyn earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University in 2011. She obtained the Professional Chartered Accountant (CPA) designation in 2014 and obtained the Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation in 2017.

Prior to joining RVG, Jaclyn gained her experience working for public accounting firms as a Tax Associate and Senior Staff Accountant, focusing on the Private Mid-Market sector.

Vincent Lam

Vincent Lam

Vincent is an associate at RVG. Vincent earned his Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management degree and his Masters of Accounting degree from the University of Waterloo. He has completed his Common Final Exam for the Chartered Public Accountant (CPA) designation in 2017. He is also pursuing both the Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Prior to joining RVG, Vincent worked for Korn Ferry Hay Group and Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited as a co-operative education student.

Vidhath Shetty

A graduate of the University of Prince Edward Island, Vidhath joined Rudson Valuation Group in 2019 after spending 6 years in the audit and assurance divisions of Arsenault Best Cameron Ellis and KPMG Canada. Vidhath received his Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant designations in 2015 and has significant experience with audits of privately owned entities.

Our support services include being involved from the inception of the legal proceeding by providing the lawyer and client with assistance in developing an overall strategy to the particular case. The following are some specific examples of how we assist lawyers in developing and implementing a strategy to the case:

  1. Identify various heads of damage.
  2. Perform an initial damage assessment for the Statement of Claim.
  3. Review the damage assessment in the Statement of Claim in order to assist in preparing the Statement of Defence.
  4. Prepare a relevant line of questioning during Examinations for Discovery (e.g. with respect to identifying information required to value the business or calculate damages).
  5. Prepare a damages brief for purposes of mediation or arbitration.
  6. Aid in the preparation and attendance at case conferences.
  7. Prepare an expert report suitable for trial.
  8. Provide expert testimony at trial.
  9. Review and critique an opposing expert’s testimony / damages brief / report.

  1. Net Family Property (“NFP”) determination
    • NFP calculations are required for the division of property on separation/divorce and requires a valuation of each spouse’s personal and business assets (including stock options) and liabilities at both the marriage date and separation date.
  2. Income Analysis
    • Income analyses are required for purposes of determining child support upon separation/divorce.
