When the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (aka Tax Reform) passed the common consensus was that tax preparation was going to be so much simpler in 2018. Now that most of the dust has settled, we have discovered that this is definitely not true. Many deductions have been capped or eliminated, the Standard Deduction has been increased but the personal exemptions have been eliminated. And, your tax return has been reduced to postcard size. But there is no mention of the numerous forms that still need to be completed and attached to the postcard tax return.
