Christian Aid Week

12th-18th May

Christian Aid logo

Christian Aid depends on donations to continue its wonderful work around the world, with people of all faiths and none, through partners and communities, standing for dignity, equality and justice. It works to eradicate extreme poverty and is committed to helping people access healthcare and education, fight discrimination, cope with natural disasters and sell their produce for a fair price.

Funds raised during Christian Aid Week will go wherever there is the need around the world. To showcase their efforts, each year Christian Aid highlights a particular country. This year it is the small central African country of Burundi, where 70% of the population is affected by malnourishment and poverty. Christian Aid has helped many such as Aline, a mother who was abused, became homeless and struggled to rebuild a stable life and income. Read her story.

Aline was able to participate in a community workshop, funded by Christian Aid where she gained knowledge and skills which helped her eventually establish a steady income and rent a house.

You can help Christian Aid transform the lives of those like Aline. Please give online or use one of the Christian Aid envelopes which will be available in St Mary’s Church during Christian Aid Week. There will not be a house-to-house collection.

Thanks in advance for your support. Together we can make a difference.
