Welcome to Tamarack.

Our son Otis had an amazing experience at Tammarack this past summer. It is a family centric place, nestled in the White Mountains of New Hampshire with fabulous tennis instruction. Otis's first words when we picked him up were "I am coming back next summer" which says it all. His technical tennis skills improved markedly and he hits out with ease vs some hesitation beforehand. In addition, his confidence and demeanor on the court when taking on his older brothers and others was in a new dimension. Equally important was the environment at Tammarack where the rhythm, vibe and pace were a perfect match for an 11 year old looking to play serious tennis, but also make new friends. He made a slew of new friends from different parts of the US and abroad and loved his cabin mates. He taught all of us a host of new games and shared tons of stories about campfire stories, ping pong tournaments (he beats me now) and tall Tammarack tales. We will be back next summer. I couldn't wait for those 4 weeks of the summer (and eventually 2-3 months) to arrive. Tamarack was my summer home for a little more than a decade and the experiences and friends that I made there as a camper and as a counselor had such a wonderful impact on my life. Many of my Tamarack friendships are still very active today. It is not your typical camp experience; it feels more akin to a sleepover - for 4 weeks... with a lot of tennis - than, say, a large regimented sports camp or a tennis academy. Yes, tennis is taught daily to all skill levels, and the instructors are great, it's fun, and there is real passion for the game, but the richness of the experience goes beyond tennis; it's the family atmosphere that I'd miss the most once I left. You're in the White Mountains, centered around a lodge that feels like a home, you know everyone's name (all 40 or so campers) by the 2nd day, and for a month you develop friendships, learn tennis and compete at your own level, swim in the mountain streams, participate in the nightly non-tennis activities, play boardgames on the porch, flirt, hike, play soccer, dances!! ... you get the idea. I couldn't recommend it enough to anyone looking for a meaningful summer camp experience. The only downside is that eventually the summer ends and you wonder why you can't be a kid for the rest of your life.

The most amazing community I have ever been apart of. Every parent should feel excited knowing their child is in a safe, loving, and fun community. I will never forget this place.

I think it speaks volumes that Tamarack has made it into every high school/college application essay that my kids have ever written! Tennis, hiking, swimming, card games, broom ball, ghost stories, lip sync contests...Tamarack is the place where they step away from technology and the craziness of the world we live in to slow down, connect, and play. Their weeks at Tamarack have given them some of their closest friends, and a deep sense of connection and community (not to mention some pretty excellent tennis skills!). We are all incredibly grateful for Tamarack and looking forward to summer 2021!!!!

We can't say enough good things about this magical summer Camp. Our son has developed a love of tennis ( and we were not a tennis family ) and now plays on his high school team. He absolutely thrived at Tamarack and met wonderful kids & counselors. The play & non- tennis activities are a huge bonus. ( we are now a card-playing family because of Tamarack ! ) He is returning summer after summer and says its the highlight of his year. Spread the word - this is a small, family run , good-ole' fashioned FUN camp for kids of all ages and interest/ stages of tennis play.

My children have loved Tamarack Tennis Camp. It is a serene gem tucked into the White mountains in New Hampshire. Be prepared to get chill, kind, socialized kids back. Nothing remote about Tamarack except the location. My oldest loved it so much he is going to be a counselor this year 🙂

Attending Tamarack Tennis Camp was one of the best experiences of my life and nothing short of transformational. This camp is so much more than just tennis. It’s about kindness, love, values and character and it happens to be located on one of the most beautiful and idyllic settings in North America - Franconia Notch in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I’m sending my son to Tamarack this summer for his first extended sleep away camp experience and my wife and I know he will be in great hands with the loving camp directors and counselors. I could not recommend this magical experience more highly!!

I spent around 15 years in total as a camper and staff member at Tamarack. It was an amazing experience on both sides of the aisle. Spend your days playing tennis on clay, playing frisbee on the lawn, eating pizza on the porch, rock climbing in the barn, and making friends that will last a life time. Do not miss out on opportunity to fall in love with this place and these people! Miss you Chuck and Wren!

Tamarack is an exceptionally special camp experience. I spent 4 years as a camper and 16 years as a staff member. These summers were the best of my life and where I made my very best friends. The Tamarack counselors create a fantastic environment for each camper where fun and friendship are fostered in an unforgettable way. From swimming in the local rivers to skit nights, capture the flag, sunny days spent hanging on the porch, hiking and toasting marshmallows at the bonfire, Tamarack is so much more than a tennis camp. I cannot recommend this special place highly enough! I am looking forward to the day I can send my own children to Tamarack.

It’s hard for me to accurately write a description of Tamarack in words, which I think many people will understand. You get to spend your days learning, playing, and/or teaching tennis.... if you don’t already have it, I’m pretty sure everyone develops a love for the game here. Something about the culture of Tamarack.... I think probably a combination of the unique size of the camp, the beautiful area, and the culture that’s been cultivated since the camp’s early days— it’s special and indescribable. You will leave with life-long memories, friends who feel like family, and you just may end up returning to Franconia for the rest of your life!
