This site is for the descendants of John McCurdy Williamson, his wife Sarah Fox, and their families. This includes the family lines of their siblings, and the children of Sarah’s first marriage, to Chesterfield G. Lee.
John McCurdy Williamson was reportedly born on 14 February 1819. Multiple places of birth have been indicated on census records, but Georgia or Tennessee are the most likely places. The only records I can find for John are census, marriage, and Mexican War related documents (some enlistment and pension stuff so far). So no trace of John before October 1847, and nothing so far from July 1848 to March 1863, those 15 years are a blank as well. From 1863 until his death in 1900 he was in Alexander County, IL. Mostly right near Olive Branch.
Sarah Fox was reportedly born in 1838 or 36, in Warren County, TN and can be found on all census records from 1850 to 1900. She passed away in 1907. Her first husband was Chesterfield G. Lee, who was killed in the Civil War, they had, it appears, 4 daughters. She remarried the following year to John McCurdy Williamson.
These pages are dedicated to tracing these families.
