The Institute for Futurestudies is a young institution of applied research, which focuses on selected topics of future of education and work. It has been founded by the Association for Flexible Learning in Innsbruck (Austria). Main interests are in the research and public discussion of questions concerning future use of information and communication technologies (ICT), especially in professional world and education. A strong focus is put on technology supported learning - elearning - in different fields, e.g. informal learning, public education and enterprises (mainly SMEs). A major target is the promotion of possibilities of lifelong learning by the support of ICT. Das IFS ist eine junge, anwendungsorientierte Forschungseinrichtung, die sich ausgewählten Aspekten der Zukunft der Bildung und Arbeit widmet. Es wurde von dem Verein für Neues Lehren und Lernen mit Sitz in Innsbruck (Österreich) eingerichtet. Gegenstand des Unternehmens ist die die Untersuchung und öffentliche Diskussion von Zukunftsfragen, die sich insbesondere mit dem Einsatz von Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien stellen. Hierbei stehen die Arbeitswelt und der Bildungsbereich im Vordergrund. Einen Schwerpunkt bildet gegenwärtig der Bereich des technologiegestützten Lernens im Privatbereich (informales Lernen), öffentlichen Bildungswesen und in Unternehmen. Ziel ist die Förderung des Gedankengutes zu den Möglichkeiten des lebensbegleitenden Lernens in der Bevölkerung und in den lokalen, regionalen, nationalen und europäischen/ internationalen Entscheidungsgremien der EU. Das Institut ermittelt aktuelle Trends, analysiert Möglichkeiten und Risiken in der Gesellschaft und analysiert deren Auswirkung auf das berufliche wie private Leben des Einzelnen, Bildungswesen, Wirtschaft, Politik und das Rechtssystem. Neben Forschung und Technologiefolgenabschätzung ist das Institut an der pilothaften Entwicklung und Evaluation neuer Lehr- und Lernsysteme beteiligt, ebenso wie mit Beratungsdienstleistungen. Die Mitarbeiterstrukturen sind flexibel aufgebaut. Das Personal rekrutiert sich projektbezogen aus festen und freien Mitarbeitern aus dem In- und Ausland., die in der Regel im universitären Bereich tätig sind oder waren. |
