Description: |
The NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database (NED) provides a multi-wavelength fusion of data for millions of objects outside the Milky Way galaxy. The astrophysical objects covered in NED include galaxies, quasars and other active galactic nuclei (AGNs), gravitational lenses, absorption line systems, components of galaxies such as supernovae, HII regions, star clusters and variable stars, as well as unclassified sources from sky surveys at radio, sub-millimeter, infrared, visual, ultraviolet, X-ray and gamma ray frequencies. Content and services include positions, cross-identifications and statistical associations, redshifts, photometry and spectral energy distributions (SEDs), morphological classifications, spectral classifications,Galactic extinction along the line of sight, FITS images, links to distributed archiveservices, as well as the Level 5 Knowledgebase. |
