Metallurgical Service Inc was originally founded by David Hoffman in December, 1985. Friends since 1977 after meeting in engineering school, Mitch Jacobs and Dave Hoffman have been partners together at MSi since 1990. After joining together Mitch created a quality program for the laboratory and secured A2LA accreditation in 1990. MSi was one of the earliest accredited labs within the A2LA metals testing program.
