Sheila Hicks is an inter-nationally known fiber artist, teacher, lecturer, and consultant. She was born in Hastings, Nebraska and grew up in the Hastings and Lexington areas. She received her BFA and MFA degrees from Yale University. Upon completing her work at Yale, Ms. Hicks received a Fullbright Fellowship to Chile. It was there that she first developed her interest in working with fibers. Today she splits her time between her primary residence in Paris, France and New York and Tokyo, Japan where she does a significant amount of her work. |
